Hi there. In this short blog-style post I wanted to talking about Hive being as another income stream.
I Left Wordpress For Steem/Hive
Before I came into Steem and then Hive, I was blogging on Wordpress. The main reason I came to Steem at the time was to earn some side hustle income from posting. I found out about Steem from alternative finance Youtubers Gregory Mannarino and maneco64. Earning some crypto earnings from posting, commenting, and upvoting other people's content sounded cool to me. It seemed like an upgraded forum with earnings. After seeing some problems with Steem, I moved out of Steemit and moved over to Hive.
It did take a while for me to get to where I am here since 2017 but I am happy with my situation here on Hive. A lot of thought, effort and typing was put into a lot of my posts.
Working Your Own Hours
In a way, being really active on Hive gives a sample of working your own hours. When it comes to developing your own posts on Hive, you are your own boss. The freedom and flexibility to set your own hours is nice. You can post as often or how little you would like depending on your mood, feeling, schedule and circumstances. There are no bosses to listen to or any annoying coworkers.
Being Rewarded By Others & A Greater Respect For Money
Work being put into Hive is judged and then rewarded by other users on Hive. Rewards are not great at the beginning of the Steem/Hive journey (assuming no investment of funds). More Hive power would be needed in order for greater influence to attract more earnings on posts and comments. You do feel that you have to really work for your earnings and reputation. I found that over time that I am learning to respect and value money more and more as it is not easy to earn money. There are many more ways to lose money than to earn money.
