The next set in the Pokemon TCG Pocket mobile game has been revealed. Dual Fusion (C1) is to release on October 29, 2026. This is the first set in the C-Block of cards. Mega Mewtwo X ex is featured along with dual-typed Pokemon.

Dual-type Pokemon take on two types for their attacks. In the regular Pokemon TCG game, weakness is double damage. In the Pocket game, weakness gives a plus 20 damage boost. Having multiple types gives a type advantage when going up against many decks.

Official Trailer below.

Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise Art Cards

Here we have the final evolutions of the starter generation 1 Pokemon.

Venusaur as an attacker is not great but it provides healing for the Active Pokemon.

Charizard as an attacker is not great either. The ability is interesting though. Attach 1 Fire Energy from your Energy Zone to this Charizard to deal 30 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

Blastoise seems usable. Aqua Charge can be used once during your turn. You take 1 Water Energy from your Energy Zone and attach it to the Blastoise.

Fuecoco ex + Pikachu ex

Fuecoco ex seems like a good Basic Pokemon ex attacker. The Bite first attack is a simple 1 Fire Energy attack for 30 damage. Feisty Flames for 1 Fire and 1 Colourless Energy deals 50 base damage plus 70 more damage if Fuecoco ex has damage on it.

As Pikachu is the mascot Pokemon, it gets another version. The first attack, Pika Punch, requires 1 Lightning Energy to deal 30 damage. Thundertail for 2 Lightning Energy and 1 Colourless Energy deals 130 damage. After the Thundertail attack, you discard 2 Lightning Energy from Pikachu ex.

Mega Greninja ex

Mega Greninja ex is the final evolution of Froakie. This is a dual type Pokemon that is both Water and Dark with a single Lightning weakness. One thing to note is that this a zero retreat cost.

Splash of Darkness for 2 Water Energy deals 100 damage and retreat locks the opponent's Active Pokemon.

Mega Mewtwo X ex

Here is Mega Mewtwo X ex. It takes on the Psychic and Fighting types.

Dual Impact for 2 Psychic Energy and 1 Colourless Energy does 100 base damage. If there is a Stadium in play, then this attack does 40 more damage. The damage is good but meeting the energy requirement may take time.

Mega Dragonite ex

I like Dragonite the Pokemon but not this card. It is hard enough to get a Stage 2 Pokemon in play even with Rare Candy. The Draconic Meteor requires a lot of energy in its cost. In addition, one of the opponent's Pokemon is chosen at random to take 250 damage.

Mew ex

This is a new version of Mew ex. As an attacker, this is not great.

The first attack may be useful in some Psychic decks. Psychic Guidance for 1 Psychic energy is a random energy acceleration attack. You flip 3 coins. For each heads, you take 1 Psychic Energy from your Energy zone and attach it to your Benched Psychic Pokemon in any way you like.

One obvious combination with this Mew ex is with the Mega Mewtwo X ex (shown above).

Other Notes

The other cards from the set will be revealed once the set releases on October 29. There could be some interesting Trainer cards.

As for the Pocket metagame, don't ask me. I no longer play the mobile game but I kind of follow some Pocket stuff. Go to this Limitless TCG website for popular decks and their respective decklists.
