Fireworks Caturday / 花火のキャタデー

We have at least 3 fireworks nights in Vancouver every summer.

I said at least 3, because these are the main fireworks events in the city but I think there are few more going on around the city.

I can't see them from my windows but I can hear them.

Anyways, the one I'm talking about is called Honda Celebration of Light

Three nights event that takes place in the city and today is the last day.

The team from different countries compete their fireworks creations on this event.

This year we have South Africa, Sweden and South Korea.

I'll be watching from my balcony avoiding the crazy traffic.

I live by the beach where people gather to see the fireworks.

The streets get filled by these people leaving after the fireworks and it looks like ants migrating!

People walk faster than cars for a while.

There is no way I'm going out.

Hahaha...

毎年夏、バンクーバーでは最低3回、花火の日があります。

最低3回と言ったのは市内周辺で、もういくつか行われていると思うのですが、音が聞こえるだけで家からは見えないので (調べるのは面倒、笑)

花火の"日"と言ったのは、こちらの花火は日本の花火大会ほどのものではなく、1回は30分程度、初めて見たときは "はあ？もう終わり？" って感じでした。

まあそれでも、市外から沢山の人が集まり、凄い混雑するんですけどね。花火以外にもイベントが行われているみたいですし。

その花火の日(大会、笑)はホンダセレブレーションオブライトと言いまして、この3日間、毎年違う国の花火チームの作品が審査され優勝が決められることになっています。

今年は南アフリカ、スウェーデン、韓国のチームが参加しています。

今日は最終日の韓国。

私たちは混雑に巻き込まれると大変なので、自宅のベランダから見ます。
