Well, the photo above is not my entry for the giveaway but this is what I got the idea from.
Do you know what it is?
This is something that I spent hours playing with as a child haha.
I found them when I was visiting my family in Japan in August.
They were still there...at the very same place I used to play...underneath the small temple by my parent’s house.
I couldn’t believe it!
The antlion’s traps!!!

8月末に一時帰国したさいに見つけたのですが、子供の頃、これでよく遊びましたwww
実家の近所にある小さな神社の建物の下、全く同じ場所にまだあったのですよ！
もうびっくりです！
アリ地獄！
私の田舎では ”てっこはっこ“ と呼んでいました。
I used to tickle the centre of the traps with a stick to catch the antlions but I couldn’t catch them this time.
So, here is the reference.
They become dragonfly looking insects (on the left) later.
子供の頃、小枝でアリ地獄の真ん中あたりをコチョコチョして中にいる虫を捕まえて遊んでいましたw
今回は捕まえることが出来なかったので、wikiを参考にしてください。
アリジゴクはウスバカゲロウの幼虫だそうです。
Here is the process of my drawing.
I filled the simple design of insects with patterns.
こんな感じで、シンプルに下書きしてからパターンを描きました。
It didn’t turn out the way I imagine so I added some colour...very interesting LOL
I’ll try again.
イメージ通りに描けなかったので、色をつけてみましたが…何だかよくわからない作品になりました^^;
また頑張ります。
