Hello everyone! This is my first steemit post. Super hyped up for the upcoming 2018 olympics. I will also be serving as a volunteer for the olympics which makes it even more exciting. Through my blog I hope to provide you with some tips for future visitors and anybody interested in learning more about the rural areas of Korea! Daehwa is a small town located in Gangwondo, about 20 minutes away from where the olympics are held. I am currently living inside the Seoul National University Pyeongchang Campus which is a large research institution specializing in the study of agriculture and food science. With the fluctuating weather, today our team decided to take a nice sip of warm soup and we chose Kalguksoo which is a traditional Korean rice noodle bowl full of seafood. Can you believe that the picture above is for a group of 3? The place can get rather crowded due to its popularity but make sure you definitely stop by. I recommend it as a local here. Also a good tip for visitors: In Korea there is a thing called "Jangnal (μ₯λ )" which is the term that describes a special day where the local farmers and workers come to sell their products. In Daehwa town, the jangnal is every 4th and 9th day of the month, so if you would like a taste of the rural lives of Korea, stop by these dates! Oh and here's an extra. The KTX from seoul to pyeongchang is now operating! It's a 1 hour ride and since its new, its a very fresh, convenient, and breathtaking experience riding the train back and forth.
