Grace is a very special lady. When I think about it, the word peace comes to mind. The expression of calm and tranquility on her face has changed very rarely since I met her six months ago, even though her husband was diagnosed with a strange disease and subsequently admitted to the hospital.
When I asked her what was the secret of her peace, Grace said: It is not a secret, it is a person. It's Jesus in me. There is no other way to explain the tranquility I feel in the midst of this storm.
The secret of peace is our relationship with Jesus Christ. He is our peace. When we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, and we become more and more like Him, peace becomes a reality. There may be diseases, financial problems or dangers, but peace assures us that God holds our lives in His hands (Daniel 5:23), and that we can trust that everything works for good.
Have we experienced that peace that overcomes all logic and understanding? Do we have the inner certainty that God is in control? May we all echo the words of the Apostle Paul: May the Lord of peace himself give you peace, and may we feel it always and in all circumstances (2 Thessalonians 3:16 NLT).
