Well, I'll start off my first ever post on here with a little brief about me and what I do and why I've decided to start posting here on this platform.
My name is Dizzy, well that's what my friends and family call me. And no it's not because I'm a couple of custards short in the head or anything like that, really! Its to do with my surname mainly.
I'm an Urban Explorer and I've been doing this for quite a few years, and I've always kinda been interested in urbex since I was a kid, there just wasn't a name for it then or may there was? skew loose comes to mind haha.
The reason I've started using this platform is down to the persistence of @slobberchops, he has not stopped encouraging me "pecking my head" into actually giving this platform ago. So here we go
@slobberchops.
Here's my first post, I hope you enjoy it.
We came across this abandoned gatehouse that lay at the foot of a very long driveway that led up to a mansion. Unfortunately, the mansion was lived in. And I didn't get to spend very long here before I was busted and escorted off the grounds 😬🙄😕.
When @slobberchops and I arrived at this location, I was a little sceptical about actually going in due to the curtains and blinds twitching from the local residents living adjacent to the gatehouse.
Well yet again with a little pecking from @slobberchops we did a little climbing over a rusty old gate and we were in the grounds.
As you can see the Gatehouse wasn't really secure at all, We walked straight in.
As we entered further into the Gatehouse I could see that the building had been neglected for quite some time, this surprised me as the mansion at the top of driveway seemed in perfect condition from what I could tell, without being seen by the occupants of the mansion, so I thought?
There wasn't really much in the gatehouse as you can tell, apart from a couple chairs scattered about.
The kitchen seemed to be in the best state compared to the rest of the gatehouse not that much better, with another chair in the middle of the kitchen, It was placed like someone had not long since been sat there taking in the view through the filthy windows waiting for the kettle to boil.
As I walked out the kitchen into another small room I was greeted by another chair that kinda looks a bit creepy to me as this room had no windows. I think this must of been the naughty cupboard?
As I was filming and @slobberchops was taking photos I heard a car pull up outside, I froze and asked slobberchops did you hear that? then it was followed by two-door slams. I cratched with nothing to really hide behind, I peeked through the dirty broken windows without not being able to see much.
I could just make out a young Asian lad running off in the opposite direction from the gatehouse and a black car parked up right outside the front door like it was trying to stop us from leaving.
I peered through another small window to try to get a better view of where the second person might have gone, only to nearly have a heart attack when I saw a young Asian lady peering back at me.
She then said in an angry voice "your trespassing" with no words I looked at my co explorer and agreed to go outside.
She asked us what we were doing, so we explained and I asked about why it had been lifted to get in this state? Once we had explained what we were doing, I think she came to the conclusion that we weren't a threat or thieves, not that there would be anything here an opportunist.
She was quite relaxed after this with not much conversation though, and then a young lad came running back from the direction I last saw him going and jumped in the car with no words.
So that is when we called it day with this one and left by the now open rusty gate.
I hope you enjoyed my first post and my short story.
