Some chairs are just for sitting.
But this particular chair in my sister's house became my photography studio.
Last year, my birthday wasn't going the way I had imagined. My birthday is every 7th of February, and unfortunately I was sick almost throughout that period. Because of that, all the plans I had for a proper birthday photoshoot kept getting delayed.
I was honestly disappointed.
I had already accepted that maybe I wouldn't have birthday pictures that year. It might sound like a small thing to some people, but I love keeping memories, and I didn't want my birthday to pass without capturing it.
Later that day, I visited my sister. I was complaining about how frustrated I felt because everything had gone wrong.
She smiled and said,
"Let's try something."
She took me into her room and started looking around for the best angle. After moving a few things, she pointed at a simple chair and asked me to sit down.
I wasn't expecting much.
She raised her phone, took the first shot, and we both looked at the screen.
We couldn't believe it.
The lighting was perfect. The background looked clean. The picture honestly looked like it had been taken in a professional studio.
Immediately we laughed and said, "This is it!"
That ordinary chair became my studio for the day.
I changed poses, smiled, laughed, and took so many beautiful birthday pictures from that same spot. Looking at those photos today still reminds me that sometimes we don't need expensive places or perfect plans to create beautiful memories.
All we need is a little creativity, someone who believes in us, and the willingness to make the best of what we already have.
Whenever I see those birthday pictures, I don't just remember my birthday.
I remember the chair that became my studio.
