Taxila once called Takshila is located in Pakistan, in Punjab province of PK
The Exact location is in Rawalpindi District Punjab, Pakistan. Nearest cities are Islamabad & Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt and Abbottabad. It is about 30β35 km northwest of Islamabad.
This Museum was founded by British in the Colonial Period during 1918 and foundation stone was laid by Lords Chelmsford Viceroy of India .
It was basically established to store the dscoveries found in Taxilla and nearby the remains of Indus Civilization. Many sculptures and coins have bern founded by the archeologists and by the locals of Taxilla.
It reflects alot about Ghandara Civilization, where Greeks, Persians and Central Asians used to live together. Many Bhuddists still visit the place to pay tribute.
There are three main stupas as one of them is in the picture.

Contains beautifully carved Buddha statues they are Used by monks for study and meditation

Mohra Moradu Stupa is very Well-preserved monastery and stupa site is Known for ancient rooms of monks and bathing area
