Heat Energy. Our Experiment for the Day
Hi everyone my name is Roulan. My siblings call me Kuya. The three of us love to play together.
Today I am going to tell you a story about me and my siblings burning leaves with a magnifying glass. We didn't make any kind of fire with it because it would be very dangerous.
The sun is our main source of heat energy. As you all see, if you look closely at the pictures I am focusing the light from the sun. How I'm doing this is because the glass is more like a glasses lens but the lens has a thick part at the middle making the sunlight have a focused heat ray.
Now we are taking a closer look to the leaf and it has black holes which are burn marks and ashes. When the light gets smaller, it means that it is very, very HOT. I remember before, when I put the light on my skin for an experiment and then after one second it burns so much that it felt like as if I was in the sun at that moment!
I also did something with the magnifying glass which is, I burned ants and (my mom said that I was savage to the ants) a lot died and their abdomens sometimes exploded cause the intense heat for them. My sister got stung by one of the ants and it lasted two or three days!
We really enjoyed this activity. Our mom was with us the whole time to make sure we do not cause any fire because it was too windy that day.
