Last Friday I invited my husband's brother and his wife over for a Lasagna dinner. I had a large pot of sauce on the stove from harvesting so many Roma tomatoes, and a large pan of lasagna in the freezer.
I took it out the day before to let it thaw, and all I had to do was reheat it for dinner. The only thing left was making a nice salad along with some garlic bread. How easy was that?
We had told them we wanted to sit by the fire that evening, and they decided to stay and enjoy it with us.
The evening air was on the cool side, so the heat kept us nice and cozy. It had been a few years since we had sat with family around a fire. This time we decided to forgo the s'mores, since all of us are limiting our sugar intake. We opted for a nice cup of coffee instead. It was so nice to be with the family.
I have my niece coming in from South Dakota soon; I'm sure we will have one more time around the fire pit before the cold weather sets in.
