OK Hive beer fans another beer from the Otter Brewery in Luppitt north of Honiton in Devon. This time it Otter Amber there 4.0% ABV Golden ale. So it a bit different from my normal tipple from that local brewery which is Otter Ale a slightly stronger bitter at 4.5% ABV. But it’s the first time I’ve noticed it in our local supermarket. According to the Otter web site it was first brewed in 2009 so I’ve probably just been a bit beer blinded by all the choice.
The Otter Amber poured very nicely with a good head which lasted
In the glass the beer is christal clear and a lovely golden colour.
The nose is a little spicy with a tang of pineapple and lemon which is very pleasant and a bit different. Taste wise it’s a well rounded full bodied beer with a hint of tropical fruits. It will be a nice beer to drink chilled so would be very present as a summer drink on a hot summers day sitting in the garden.
So Hivers it’s definitely a beer I will be getting again if I see it on the supermarket shelves. So cheers and chilled beer Saturday to you all.
