stop, look at places without people
a frightening situation, empty public spaces
the otherworldly and unfamiliar scenes
a scene that could cause discomfort
the distance with endless visual perspective
looking away alone in the landscape
the street appears empty, figures who have stood still
frightened to be captured by the exposure of COVID19
the uncanny and the dark abyss-like rooms
estrangement from hinges, an untimely departure
an alternative reality emptied of our presence
dread than terror, deriving its force
while we hide away and quarantine ourselves indoors
the world outside is trapped in the collective imaginary
evoking the sensation of being alone in a catacomb
urban life emptied of its citizens as eerie house
a void accompanied only by the shadow
estrangement, social alienation, dispirited
COVID19 isolates us physically from each other
disrupts and stops how we work, play and learn
signals a rupture to the flow of everyday life
unmask the illusion that we are integral to the existence
uninhabited, slowing down the stock market
the need for government stimulus packages
positively, collective coping strategies emerge
TikTok videos, memes, stories, essays, songs, and poems
enhance part of the culture turning to creative means
spending time together especially with the elderly people
through a FaceTime or WhatsApp call to stay connected
let's bend our knees to pray, ask forgiveness and miracles
