– Celine Dion.
I think Celine Dion pretty much summarized the whole idea of this post with that quote, which is why I just had to include it in here.
Honestly, I can't say I've had many proud achievements but the little I've had, I tend to celebrate them and appreciate myself. They say life is hard but that's not entirely true you know. Life is actually easy for some and hard for some. So, we shouldn't generalize that statement.
For me, life hasn't been easy as I've gone through series of challenges, hardships and pain. I've experienced poverty, hunger, failure and much more even though I don't look like it. I guess this because I've learned to package myself well. I'm proud of the fact that I don't let my condition weigh on me no matter how hard it gets. It's pretty easy for people to smile and work well when their life is smooth but when life is rough, keeping a happy face or a positive outlook is extremely hard. However, I manage to do that everyday because I'm enthusiastic about life. I like to keep hope alive and believe that someday soon, the bad days will become laughable old memories.
Nobody knows what I go through and even if they do, they often find it hard to believe. I've never done anything out of character for money or attention like some people do. Even though I don't always get anything I want due to my parents financial struggles, I'm still grateful for life and everything I have. I choose the long path to success which is hardwork, patience and perseverance. I must say, joining hive is one of the proudest decisions I've made and it has helped a lot in making me a better person. It's one thing to be here and another to keep showing up. It's true that it gets hard sometimes, but I haven't given up and I don't ever intend to.
Despite the difficulties in life, I'm super proud of choosing to remain my true self, believing in God, pursuing my goals, never giving up, showing up and growing intellectually. Whenever I muse on how far I've come at becoming my best version, I utter these words to myself; “I couldn't be more proud of you Dimma!“ 😌🥂
