How are you Hive friends? I hope you are having a nice day and feeling great! Here everything is going perfect, thinking at the time of writing this post that I define myself as the man of the kilometers 😄, the previous time I traveled 55 kilometers to show you the gigantic Cathedral of La Plata and this time I have traveled about 35 kilometers to share with you this great museum called Tigre Art Museum or by its chairs in Spanish (MAT).
This museum is located in the party of Tigre, in the city that bears the same name and belongs to the northern part of the province of Buenos Aires, approximately two or three kilometers from the train station from where I walked the journey.
Cómo están ustedes amigos de Hive? Espero tengan un lindo día y se encuentren muy bien! Por acá todo va perfecto, pensando al momento de redactar este post que me autodefino como el hombre de los kilómetros 😄, la vez anterior recorrí 55 kilometros para mostrarles la gigantesca Catedral de la plata y en esta oportunidad he recorrido alrededor de 35 kilómetros para compartir con ustedes éste grandioso museo llamado museo de arte Tigre o por sus sillas en español (MAT).
Este museo se encuentra ubicado en el partido de Tigre, en la ciudad que lleva el mismo nombre y pertenece a la zona norte de la provincia de Buenos Aires, aproximadamente a unos dos o tres kilometros desde la estación de tren de dónde recorrí el trayecto caminando.
Approaching the subject of this great work we can point out that the building is approximately 111 years old since its construction began in 1910 and at a tremendous speed, it was inaugurated two years later, in 1912, and its function at that time was not really for a museum.
The designers of this great work were Luis Dubois and Pablo Pater, both French architects who gave a neoclassical style to the so-called Club Tigre at that time... Yes, it was a club created for the upper class of the city where they could enjoy sports activities, recreation and social events of the Argentine elite.
Abordando el tema de esta gran obra podemos acotar que el edificio tiene aproximadamente unos 111 años de antigüedad ya que su construcción empezó en el año 1910 y a una velocidad tremenda, fue inaugurado dos años después, para el 1912 y su función en aquella época no fue realmente para un museo.
Los diseñadores de ésta gran obra fueron Luis Dubois y Pablo Pater, ambos arquitectos franceses quienes le dieron un estilo neoclasico al llamado en esa época Club Tigre... Si, fue un club creado para la clase alta de la ciudad en dónde podían disfrutar de actividades deportivas, recreación y eventos sociales de la élite argentina.
A hotel was also inaugurated next to this club which was also built for the same purpose, where the social events of the Argentine bourgeoisie of this locality took place, however by the 1930's this hotel was demolished. The club had its glory years in the 1950's but soon after it was expropriated by the government to be used as gendarmerie offices.
Years later it was used for event rentals but its functionality at that time was over. In the 70's it was declared a national historical monument due to its architectural values and in 1998 the building was remodeled to what we have today, functioning as an art museum.
The building has a French neoclassical style, has two floors and abound in gold and bronze details in every corner of this structure where we can also appreciate the numerous columns characterized by having a Doric style. The stairs of the building have marble and inside this museum there are works of great importance for the country.
Se inauguró además un hotel al lado de este club que también fue construido para la misma finalidad, dónde los eventos sociales de la burguesía argentina de esta localidad se llevaban a cabo, sin embargo para la década de los años 1930 este hotel fue demolido. El club tuvo sus años de gloria para la década de 1950 pero poco tiempo después fue expropiado por el gobierno de turno para ser usado como oficinas de gendarmería.
Años después se usó para alquiler de eventos pero ya su funcionalidad de aquella época había terminado. Para los años 70 se declaró monumento histórico nacional debido a sus valores de arquitectura y para el año 1998 se hicieron remodelaciones del edificio hasta llegar a lo que tenemos en la actualidad, funcionando como un museo de arte.
El edificio tiene un estilo neoclasico francés, tiene dos pisos y abundan los detalles en oro y bronce en cada rincón de ésta estructura donde podemos apreciar también las numerosas columnas caracterizadas por tener un estilo dórico. Las escaleras del edificio llevan mármol y dentro de este museo se encuentran obras de gran importancia para el país.
One of the main features of this building is the beautiful walkway overlooking the Lujan River, which surrounds the museum and you can see the two side towers that owns the museum and a dome also characteristic of the buildings in the country.
I particularly find it one of the most beautiful and impressive works I have seen in this style and I wanted to take the trip to share it with all of you. I would highly recommend you to visit this museum if you come to Buenos Aires.
Una de las características principales de éste edificio se trata de la hermosa pasarela que da hacia el río Luján, el cual rodea al museo y se pueden observar los dos torres laterales que posee el museo y una cúpula característica también de las construcciones en el país.
Particularmente me parece una de las obras más hermosas e imponentes que he visto en este estilo y quise emprender el viaje para compartirla con todos ustedes. Les recomendaría enormemente visitar este museo si vienen a Buenos Aires.
It was impossible to access the inside of the building since the day I visited it was an election day here in the country and most of the places were closed, however I want to share a couple of pictures from two years ago when I visited it for the first time and I went with my family.

Fué imposible acceder al interior del edificio ya que el día que lo visité eran elecciones acá en el país la mayoría de los lugares estaban cerrados, sin embargo quiero compartir un par de fotos de hace dos años cuando lo visité por primera vez y fui en familia.
