It might be in your best interest not to read this if you are an overly religious bigot who doesn't have the mental capacity to accommodate varying opinions and bitter truths. This is the exception, the coming of age of an average African who has grown to understand that life is not as they thought us in Sunday school class. Perhaps some of the things in this post works for you white(I'm not a racist) folks.
Like many Nigerians, I grew up in a very religious family, infact they used to call me "Udo ifa"(evangelist's second son), cos my dad was an evangelist. So these things, I'm saying them as an authority. The Bible lied to Nigerians. Yes I said it, and I have facts to back it up, many of the things said in the Bible wasn't meant for Nigerians. We've been deceived by our colonial masters.
I know if you're a Nigerian who's religiously brainwashed, you must be reeling with anger, but calm down. First off, do you have light in your house? No? But did the Bible not refer to you as "Light of The World"?. So tell me how on earth is the light of the world not having light. Personally I can't boast of 2 hours of electricity daily, but I'm supposed to be the light of the world.
It even goes further to say that I'm "a city set on a hill, that cannot be hidden". Big lie! If we play hide and seek, nobody will be able to find me as the darkness here is blinding. Last time we tried it, they only found me in the morning because I mistakenly slept off in my hiding place and no one could find me. Light of the world that cannot shine without torchlight or fuel.
That's how they lied to us that the children of Israel ate manna in the wilderness, when in truth what they ate was garri (cassava flakes). If you think I'm lying, I bet you to show me visual evidence of what manna looks like. And when you're done with that, tell me another dish you can just scoop and eat without cooking in Nigeria.
Garri is the only meal that both the poor and rich can consume in same quantity without discrimination. It is also the only meal that can be consumed without going through fire or any other preparation process. It can even be consumed without water. It has no advertisements, but sells better than any other food. It has saved more lives than the whole Nigerian defense mechanism.
Garri has no mates and that's what God gave to the children of Israel in the wilderness. If it were any other meal, they would have gotten tired of it quickly, but nobody ever gets tired of garri. The only reason the children of Israel got tired was because they were ungrateful. Give garri its flowers please.
Remember when they crossed the red sea and God told them that "The Egyptians You see today, You shall See Them No more"?. Lol, I guess they did not take our politicians into the picture. These lot are the Egyptians pro max. I can imagine Pharoah sitting in one corner of hell, looking at these dudes and feeling like a failure when it comes to wickedness.
At least the Egyptians were mean to strangers and visitors to their land, Nigerian politicians are wicked to their own people including their colleagues. Just last week, one of those who just rigged the just concluded presidential elections came on national television to berate his opponents in other parties, telling them that to be a successful politician in Nigeria "You have to learn to handle the pain of rigging". Talk about being proud in crime.
Don't forget when they said that "The sun shall not smite thee by day", but then we've been getting fried since January over here. For the past few months, the kind of sun that has decided to visit us with its anger seemed to have been cooked directly from hell, and I'm not exaggerating.
The sun has smitten me, burned me, roasted me and even fried me to the extent that I sometimes feel my blood boiling beneath my skin. And for a southerner saying this, I wonder what my northern brothers go through as they're closer to the Sahara. Oh! Sorry, they're not Christians, they're Muslims. So I guess they deserve it. Pun intended!
Let me march, or is it match (whatever), my brakes here for now. The road to liberation has just begun.
