It was a reasonably productive trip as far as getting things more organized on the site side of the project. I finalized the navigation structure, which has taken me a lot of iterations and thinking to accomplish.

My typical delusions had me thinking I would get a lot more done, but its so easy for me to underestimate how much time it takes to do things.

Mission #1 Identified.

The main take away from the trip is that I would like to find someone to work on the WordPress to Blockchain Syndication Plugin. If you have any recommendations there, I would certainly like to hear them.

Mobile Ready

Another lesson I learned from the trip is that I am well prepared to take this gig on the road. I have spent a lot of time and money acquiring the tools I need and I just proved to myself I've got a solid start.

I should go into that in more detail soon. I'm pretty proud of my operation as it stands today and how I think it sets me up well going forward.

The Trip Home

This is worth a mention as a full on suck fest.

The night before we left, I ended up sick as could be with a fever and a party raging on downstairs pretty much all night. It was the worst I felt in a long, long time. I spent the night watching the hours tick closer and closer to the 3am mark when we planned to leave Florida to come back to Ohio for a while.

There just weren't any options. We had to be out of the house and didn't really have time to waste anyway, so off we went, sick as hell.

Once we got to the Tennessee "mountains" we guess around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, the snow started and we almost immediately came to a stand still for a few hours.

Once we did finally start crawling again, it continued to be a crawl ALL. THE. WAY. HOME. which was right around 11pm Sunday night.

I did absolutely nothing Monday and most of today until now. I"m feeling pretty decent right now, so I'm trying to make up for lost time.

Its a damn good thing I put some nice new Michelins on the rig. They really did perform awesome and I am extremely thankful for that.

ENGAGEMENT

I'm really enjoying this new push to become more engaged with and learn more about the awesome accounts on Hive, and one thing I have found that is a real win-win is asking someone I'm engaging with to suggest an account and I set them as the beneficiary of my post. Its fun.

This time the beneficiary was going to be set to @stemgeeks at 100% thanks to the recommendation of @makerhacks, but @themarkymark suggested that I don't need to do that. Upon further thinking, I think it makes more sense to set it to @makerhacks.

I'm very glad this happened because I have now learned more about the #Hive ecosystem that I have somehow managed to miss out on. I've been hearing about Tribes, of course, but I honestly didn't really have much of a concept about how they operate.

STEMGeeks Tribe is the Tribe's front end. I'll be looking around there for stuff to curate and engage with. It's like finding a new land to explore, lol.

I'm clearly missing out on any history about how this all came to be which I'm betting is pretty interesting, but I'm guessing by my very brief exploration that @themarkymark is the force behind this endeavour?

Going forward, I will try to do it in a way that doesn't hijack their thread, which I admittedly did a bit on this one. Probably not the biggest deal, but room for improvement there.
