This morning while checking through communities to read from other Hivans and get involved with them as well, I came across a post by @josediccus. It was about food experimentation and I got curious.
In the post, he spoke with so much enthusiasm about his cooking, some of his failed attempts and how his mum would beat him when his cooking turns out badly. According to him, despite that he didn't quit experimenting.
He also wrote about the food images he was posting. Telling us what food they were and his reason for preparing it the way it did. I was honestly very impressed because true to his words, in Nigeria it is widely believed that only women are good cooks. Seeing him writing and discussing his good experiments actually made me realize this believe isn't completely true.
I've been motivated to share my own experimentation as well, please read on.
WHAT DOES COOKING MEAN TO ME?
Cooking is one of my hobbies. I enjoy cooking because 80% of the outcome is always good. The compliments I receive when my meals are tasted makes me very happy and it encourages me to keep cooking.
I'm a foodie so I guess my love for food is just natural. I love food, good food and it's one of the ways to win my heart.😂 Food is very much important to me. I have a different kind of love for people who buy me food or cook for me or surprise me with food. I love a person who encourages me to eat even more. This matter is serious.
Disclaimer: I'm not in any way a glutton. I see people who go out to occasions and struggle for food, embarrass themselves and so on but I don't do that. I love food, I go out and buy whatever I crave, eat responsibly and compliment the taste that's it.
WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE?
Today I bring you all the most delicious noodles I've ever prepared in 20 years. I was so hungry this morning and confused about what to have for breakfast. I thought about buying from the local food vendors around my area but then again I remembered that food is so expensive yet the quantity will be so small.
There and then I took my purse and hit the street. I located a shop and saw this Oriented Fried Noodles. The colour of the pack was attractive and I got it and decided to give it a try.
I prefer my noodles fried and the strands long not short. So I started by boiling my noodles, filtered it when it was soft and had my oil ready for frying.
I love my food spicy and very tasty so I added extra ingredients of thyme, curry and a little bit of onga spices. My noodles came with dried carrots and veggies in the pack so they were part of my cooking too.
My mum complained that the onions was too much but that's me, I didn't listen. I went ahead and sliced as much onions as I wanted. I love onions in anything that contains groundnut oil. It helps give the food an excellent taste.
My noodles turned out to be very tasty. I was so excited. My mum literally had to beg to have a taste😂 My dad ate noodles willingly for the first time and scraped my pot.😁 You can see from the pictures that this is a really yummy noodles.
To gulp it all down, I had a bottle of Nutri Yo. I'm not a fan of youghurt but @Zellypearl introduced me to this drink few days ago and I fell in love.
It was such a good combination and I had a sumptuous breakfast.
This is my today's food experimentation. All images are mine and were taken with my smart phone. Thank you for reading. 😊
