It's common knowledge in the world that in order to learn we have to make mistakes.
It's funny how I seem to live the opposite of this or at least, I used to.
I make a lot of mistakes yet I don't learn.
Many times, I sit and I think of all the bad choices, all my past mistakes, things I did that I would actually give anything in the world to take back.
Unfortunately, my life isn't a fictional series and I can't run back in time.
No take backs.
I think one of the best things about being alive, being able to breathe, is the fact that we get another chance to right our wrongs.
To do something to fix that mistake. Something I have a special talent to make.
All I wished for was to start afresh, if possible erase the memories of the past.
A clean slate.
Fortunately, I got the opportunity and it all started with a single person.
I tell people now that I hardly have any worries, no boy problems, no academic problems, and though I'm not competing with Elon Musk, I really don't have money problems. There was a point when things weren't like this and that was the point I made the most mistakes.
All I wanted was to start over. I remember exactly how that particular day went because it was one of my worst. Something happened, actually I did something, made a mistake and I was crying about it.
I didn't want to cry but then it was too much and before I knew it, I was walking on the road, crying and unknowingly I bumped into someone because I wasn't watching where I was going.
As expected, I apologized and then I kept going.
The next thing I heard was, "Why are you crying?".
Normally, I would have kept going but for some weird reason I stopped and turned and she smiled. That was how I found myself telling a complete stranger the whole problems of the entirety of my life.
I had heard that sometimes, it was better to talk to a stranger, just let it all out to someone who doesn't know you, someone that you won't be afraid if they judge because their opinion of you wouldn't really matter.
There I was in the exact same situation. I normally cry a lot, like it's a hobby. Whether I'm listening to a sad song or watching a sad movie but that day, the tears just really hurt.
She said something, "You are not your mistake and you are alive, so you get to start over".

I didn't really take it to heart because it's not easy to just forget. She got my number and everyday for the next two months she texted me.
The little words she would write would make me feel better and it did get better.
I, like she said, stood up, cleaned myself up and I took a new turn in life.
I really don't like to talk about the mistakes I made.
Sometimes I can sit down and have flashbacks and it just feels like that was a completely different lifetime.
I learnt a lot from her, I still learn everyday and I don't know where or what I'd have done to fix the mess I made of myself if I hadn't met her.
Some people are just sent our way.
I think that was the point things took a U-turn for the better and now here I am with hardly any worries.
Life isn't perfect, but life is good enough. It's another month and my family is complete.
I still make mistakes, that's inevitable but now, they aren't the type that would make me walk on the road crying.
She gave me enough reasons.Convinced me to wipe my slate clean and move past my mistakes and I couldn't be more grateful.
Her name suits her, because her parents looked at her and named her Angela.
I would send this to her but then I've been warned to stop saying thank you.
So since she got tired of my thank yous. I'll say it here.
Thank you Angela❤️.
