Good morning, dear friends at Buskeria and Hive; I wish you all a wonderful day—the kind you deserve. Today, I’m happy to share another drawing I’ve created. This time, the subject is a violin. It had been quite a while since I last painted one, so I felt like drawing this instrument today. The specific model I chose is the one featured on the "Pro 011 Lemon Violin" card. It’s a classic violin, but what really stands out is its yellow color. I’m sure you haven’t seen one like it before; to be honest, I hadn’t seen one like it in any music videos either.
That’s the great thing about Rising Star—it features so many unique and original instruments. Now, as always, I’ll walk you through the entire process, from start to finish. The first step, as always, is the outline. In the first photo, you can see how it looked once finished.
After the outline, I drew the violin's neck and the pegbox area, though I didn't draw the tuning pegs just yet. When I finished that part, I thought it looked funny—it reminded me of a hunting spear. What did you think? It’s always good to have a little fun. To make it look like a violin, I added the classic body with its signature S-shaped curves. That made it practically complete; only a few details remained, which you’ll see in the next step.
To finish the sketch, I just needed to add the tuning pegs at the top. I also drew the violin's decorative cutouts shaped like musical notes; in real life, these are sound holes that help amplify the volume. Finally, in the center of the violin, I drew the tailpiece (which holds the strings) and the chin rest. As you know, the violin is played pressed against the face; that’s what the chin rest is for—to keep it from moving.
With the previous steps complete, the sketch was finished; all that remained was to add color. As always, that’s the most fun part of the entire process. For the background, I chose a greenish-yellow—a shade that’s almost fluorescent. I thought it would look lovely, offering a bit of contrast against the violin's intense yellow. For the inner frame—which I painted next—I used a light pink, the same shade found on the frame of the reference card. I chose it to create a visual link to the "Pro" card. Finally, I painted the inner background using various shades of blue, and the violin in a range of yellows and blacks. I was pleased with the result. In the final painting step, I added the strings.
And as always, to wrap things up for today, here is the final result. Thanks so much for watching. See you in the next one.
