Hey everyone, today I want to show you another one of my drawings, this time featuring a game card. In this case, I chose the Pro 006 Recorder card. As you can see in the picture, it's a musical instrument—a type of recorder. I'm sure you already know what a recorder is; I think the explanation would be unnecessary, but I still like to tell you.
As you know, it's an instrument that you blow into at one end. The air comes out through a series of mouthpieces on the body of the instrument. The trick to making music is to cover some of the mouthpieces with your fingers to produce notes. If you do it in order, you create music. It's that simple. Of course, it's not easy to play; it requires a lot of practice. This drawing is the second one I've done this week featuring pro instruments. I hope to bring you more drawings like this throughout the week. Okay, now I'm going to show you how I painted this card. As always, I start with the frame. In this case, it consists of two squares, one inside the other.
Once I had the frame ready, I drew an inner rectangle to define the area of the instrument, just like in the original card. Then I started drawing the outline of the flute until I completed it. Here are some photos of the process.
Next, I added some details to make it look more like a flute, for example, several of the inner outlines so that each of the different parts of the flute would be clearly visible: the middle, the lower, and the mouthpiece. Here you can see the finished sketch.
In the next step, I started painting the entire card. I used the original color palette, but with slightly more saturated colors to make it stand out more. I always like the color to be a bit vibrant. I've also included several screenshots that show much of the process.
