Hello all, Welcome to my Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge. This Week we have CURSED WINDEKU as our theme, He is a Rare Rarity Monster of Death lement from Chaos Legion Edition.

Shorten lore:Cursed Windeku are nightmarish creatures that live in the deepest and darkest woods. They hunt at night, stalking their prey before attacking with their claws, while their thorn-like horns and natural healing ability provide an excellent defense.

Cursed Windeku is one of my favorite monsters, not only in Death Element but from all element of Chaos Legion Edition. He is one of the best tank, not the strongest, but the best by some term which one of them is the Mana Requirement. Hardly you get any tank as good as Windeku who demands only 6 mana.

CURSED WINDEKU STRENGTH

DECENT ATTACK POWER. He is not the best hitter, however he has decent melee damage and good speed. He is not a sluggish tank who keeps missing his target.

Great Ability. He has two great ability, Thorn and Healing. It's a tank you can not defeat with half ass attacks. The linke of Xenith Monk who is a great anti mage tank with half ass melee attack, will be crushed easily by Windeku.

6 Mana. We have many great tanks, however most of them demands above 8 mana cap. Windeku only demands 6 Mana, and this becomes his strongest bargain position. He is strong in small mana cap.

CURSED WINDEKU WEAKNESS

He almost doesn't have any weakness. If I have to give one, he doesn't have any armor. However we can not expect 6 Mana Tank to have everything that a great tank has.

This was a modern format silver league battle rank. This battle had 17 mana cap which I thought a great one to put Cursed Windeku in. His 6 mana requirement would be a decisive one, because limited mana meant you must extra selective could not pick many strong monsters.

PositionCardAbilityPlan and Strategy
Summoner-1 Magic an -1 HealthThaddius Brood is one of the best Death Summoner. He is not the strongest, or one of he strongest because he is not a Legendary Summoner, however his 2 buffs are very effective. He is one of the best companion for Cursed Windeku, because he nerfs down opponent magic damage which Windeku can not defend against at.
Main TankThornOur main theme this week, one of the best tank in Death Element, especially during low mana cap. He has high health, good speed, good melee damage, and a Thorn to protect him.
SecondSneakUraeus is really a snake, he is not strong but really annoying because he keeps harassing your backline monsters. if you do not have backline defense mechanism, Uraeus could take down your most important support monsters
ThirdShatterWeirding Warrior is just a 2 mana weak archer. However he has shatter ability which turns him into armor shattering monster.
Fourthnoneadditonal 2 mana archer.

Round 1

  • This battle started by each parties buffed and debuffed monsters.

  • My team had 5 Melee damage, and 2 range damage. Total damage was 7 damage per turn.
  • My team had better fire power. It semeed I had the upper hand.
  • Opponent Chaos Agent died in this round

Round 2

  • This round opponent lost the fiend and hardy stonefish

Round 3

  • Situation getting worse for my opponent now
  • This time they lost their scavo hireling

Round 4

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?

Yes it did. Cursed Windeku 6 mana gave more room for other monsters to fit in. That's why I had 4 attacking monsters. Meanwhile my opponent who had better monsters could only depend on Oshannus single handedly.

WOULD I CHANGE MY FORMATION?

If different ruleset occurs, I will change my line up. However in general, for less than 25 mana cap, I would go with Cursed Windeku whatever the ruleset is.
