Hello, friends especially foodies!
Last Saturday, after the meatballs brunch then a bit walking around the shopping center, mom and I felt hungry again… and after arguing with mom, yes, I talked about a café near the food print food court on 5th floor, while mom talked about another restaurant we once ever wanted to try which was located in the department store area, 3rd floor at alun-alun Indonesia part, this floor is decided to sell Indonesian heritage batik clothes. Because we were hungry that time so we went to the nearest with our location, 3rd floor.
THE OUTLOOK
Here how the restaurant looked like from the outside
You could see even from the outside that the atmosphere looked so earthy Indonesian, warm with natural wood furnish.
THE DINING AREA
They had large dining area, some chairs and tables were outside their restaurant, blended with alun- alun Indonesia, the area where they sold batik. We sat out there, behind was the restaurant’s area.
Inside was also large, even they had the area where you could see the street, cause it had the large windows. They décor the restaurant perfectly in earthy natural wood color, the bricks walls, and also the made from stone floor. Perfect dining area.. They had some customers eating and chatting there.
THE MENU
You would need to scan the qr code to see their menu, and they only showed a bit on the black board at front.
Here were some of the menus they had
They only sold Indonesian food here, but most Indonesian food are delicious, so no need to worry.
We ordered fried menus, one for mom, and one from me. Our dishes were not the same. Mom’s menu was uncommonly found in a Indonesian food restaurant, while mine, even the hawker’s food seller also could sell it? Could you imagine what we had and guess it?
THE FOOD & THE OUTLOOK
After the long 20 more minutes of waiting (we were so hungry) and the menu came one by one, started with mom’s. Here was our lunch
Now you know what we had, don’t you?
THE TASTE & THE FLAVOUR
It’s time for me to share the taste and flavour of each, and I start it with mom’s
BAKMI GORENG KUCAI (Chives Fried Noodle)
Usually you could find this menu in Chinese food restaurants, this noodle had the super spicy and savory flavour. It had the boiled quail eggs as toppings, and also egg and chicken. So weird to have this chives fried noodle in spicy flavour. Both mom and I preferred the ones sold in the Chinese food restaurants. Nothing special with this dish except the SUPER SPICY flavour it had. But unfortunately none of us were spicy lovers.
The second menu, was mine
NASI GORENG KOMPLIT WARUNG KOPI (Complete Fried Rice)
This one is the dish I said you could find everywhere even on the street. It had the SPICY flavour too (oh no), with the savory and sweet flavour too. It had variants of topping from chicken, egg, meatballs and also seafood. It had non greasy texture and also dry, plus it had the authentic smell of the leave they used to make it different, maybe they used the orange leaves here. But I didn’t get the point, it didn’t improve the taste of it. The ones that made me felt better that they gave the high quality belinjo chips which was tasty and also the sunny side up egg on its’ top.
All the menus they served were so SPICY, so better be careful.. in the dishes they sliced the small orange chilli which tasted so spicy.
THE PRICE
It was 133,458 IDR or 9.3 USD for only our food. Not fair cause all were a bit more expensive from their menu.
We won’t come back cause we didn’t like too spicy food, the taste was nothing special, not delicious at all plus the price was so unfair. The waiting time for the food preparation was also long.
No, I am not recommended this restaurant for you to try Indonesian tasty menus. Experience is the best teacher cause even this restaurant always has customer, the taste was not delicious at all.
