There are alot of trending issues today caused by dowry. Many homes suffered from this and couple with the way our economy is, the way things are hard life continues to be difficult posing more problems to the dowry challenges.
To get a clear picture of dowry issues, it suffice to itemize these problems one by one.
domestic violence: cases of domestic violence is so alarming. One of the reported cases of domestic violence is caused by pains the Husband feel when the wife talk to him without respect. He recounted what he spent for her marriage and stating that the wife supposed not to disrespect him.
Others that also suffered dowry pains when their wife talk to them without regard do go extra miles to bullying the wife. Some got their wife wounded seriously while some wife suffered dead.
I do imagine if dowry is cheap would this issue stilt pop up? My mind could reflect also on the this boy friend- girlfriend issue of bullying when they recounted on what they spent on the girl yet the girl misbehave. Also could there be something beyond the dowry that excite domestic violence. This will be the talk of another day.
Fear of getting married among young men: young men inline with the high cost of living are afraid of getting married this days. The high cost of dowry is not even helping matters as well. So to avoid the embarrassment from the bride family when one stand to consider the dowry even when the person gets to the age of getting married will stay away from marriage.
Young people now days are afraid of getting married. Imagine with the things are some families marriage list is so terrible. Some include the purchase and installation of oil processing Mills. Just imagine, some their list items will be about four to six pages of an A4 paper.
So many get involved in money rituals. Some kill their wife in exchange of what they paid on their head during the marriage ceremony.
So my advice to our women is that before planning to go into marriage, get work that can make you supportive to the man. Have your own money, have value so that you can decide well.
Before accepting him get to know at best his intentions about you.
Because there are much stories that touches the heart now a day.
The most touching ones are when I see women in the pool of their blood as a result of one fight or bully by the one they are in love with.
Dear women you are so precious to be sustaining such pains and injuries. Dear men let take thought also that they are human and need to be treated well. They are not the one that collected their dowry.
Dear family members, life is hard let make adjust in dowry so that young men who are at the age of getting married will do so without going extra miles to get themselves entangled with rituals and social vices that are capable of claiming lives of our young ones.
Dear family elders things are hard, let encourage our young ones and show them how to strive in a positive perspective.
