A Collection of Failed Photos.

I take tens of photos every time I take my camera out for the day. But 90% of these photos never even get to be seen by anyone but me, and even then, only once. After that they are moved to a stockpile of photos that most likely will never be looked at again. I am a perfectionist (which does not mean my photos are perfect by any means). I never show lots of them because they aren't up to my standards.

But looking through hundreds of pictures today I decided... Why not post some? For multiple reasons. So I can go through them and identify why I don't like them, and so I can fix this in future. But maybe the more important reason is so that I can share some pictures I am not particularly happy with with the public! And in future this might make me less concerned about my 'perfectionism'.

So... Here goes!

Failed images

Reason: Only some of the subject is in the frame. The cat's ears are cut out of the image and personally it really puts me off the image. If I had of caught the ears in the image also I think this would have been one of my better pictures

Reason: The face was too bright due to the external flash being on too high of a setting/too direct. Although this can be edited out later, it still bugs me. Also, the angle is a bit off I feel, maybe more level or closer to the rail would have looked better.

Reason: The focus just seems off to me. It is focused in the centre of the field of flowers, but I think that a larger aperture with a closer focus point would have turned out better.

Reason: This one might be a bit more obvious! The nose is clearly in focus and the eyes aren't. They eyes should usually be the focus point though, as often they are the most appealing or interesting part of the image.

Reason: Underexposed! Once again, this could be brightened, but the noise was also quite high sadly. The ISO was too high and the external lighting wasn't enough. Also the fact that the bears foot is slightly out of the image bugs me!

Reason: The focus in this image once again appears to be ever so slightly off. It is focused on the flower rather than the obvious subject (the butterfly), making the subject blurry when closely examined.

So... What do you think? Am I too picky? I am hoping by posting these that I can embrace these small (or large) shortcomings of my images and be slightly more content with my photos.
