One of the most provocative texts I have encountered recently is an article by a member of Danish Parliament which is called 'Welcome to 2030. I own nothing, have no privacy, and life has never been better'. It can be read fully at the website of the World Economic Forum.
What is it about, speaking briefly? Just imagine such a hypothetic situation: you live in a fully automated city with no property to be considered yours. You have no job, no scarcity threat, no struggle to make ends meet, so now you can just relax and do whatever you want to, like travelling, doing art or research in quantum mechanics or grooming dogs...literally anything. But your life is not private anymore. As well as losing the concept of property, such concept is also devoid of outdated features like having your own home, family and other parcels of private life. Here this concept starts feeling creepy. Someone may say that all the globe becomes your home as well as all the humanity becomes your family. But is it even possible? Are we really able to get rid of our prejudices concerning privacy and property? Is it important for you personally? Would you like to live in the reality described in this article?
