If you've ever struggled with mental health (I know some people can definitely say "yes" to my comment above), you may find it difficult, debilitating and (potentially) ) is a life-limiting disease.

I know this because I am going through an episode right now. I've always suffered (probably since I was 10, to be honest). For me, it's part of my life.I have good days, bad days, and very bad days.

If it's a bad day for me, there's a way to deal with it. I am continuing my meds, resting, and taking time for myself. Most days these days, we have to deal with our daily routines as best we can. After reading this, some may think that she is very brave and strong. Or I can take it, you have a lot of power. But is it? Is it really good for our sanity to be 'strong' or 'brave'?

This is where you start struggling with these terms. To some extent, you may have to dig deep or be 'strong' or 'brave' and that really helps. When you're having a "bad" day, it's so good to get up, get dressed, and move on. will be But I struggle with these words when I have my very bad days... days when I'm exhausted, crying, panicking, worried, scared, lost. Days when the outside world is scary, days when the wrong perspective pushes you through the window of tolerance, days when you feel lost and alone. The days when the words “brave” and “strong” (personal) are useless. If you say I am strong, can I overcome it, or can you speak up with courage, or are you a fighter! People are trying to help and give me hope I know you think you are giving. They're not my personal opinion, but they make me even worse.

"Brave" and "strong" torment me when I'm depressed. They tell me I can be those things, but I can't today. Does that mean I'm a failure and worthless? To my depressed and irrational brain, yes. My brain keeps repeating that you aren't strong or brave because you can't get out of bed.You aren't brave or strong because you don't wash yourself. You are neither brave nor strong because you cannot work. In my depressed brain, those words work differently than intended. Of course, I'm not saying that these words should always be banned from English dictionaries.
