You, my friend, must find the courage to rise to the challenge. No matter the struggle, we're all prisoners of our minds, the only difference is, some find ways to make their cells habitable, while others wallow in their ineptitude.
There would always be something wrong with the world, and yes we will mourn our impoverishment, quite naturally, but we must be mindful lest we become cynics, blind to the wonders of the world.
The evil that men do live after them, but so do the good. Art is nothing but a beautiful dream, the only fantasy we get to create in our lifetime, and create we must. Sure, it is tedious and time-consuming, and we often fall out of purpose, but maybe purpose is the problem, the idea that we must be meaningful in order to have successfully existed. Perhaps wonder is what we should seek after, that feeling of amazement and admiration, caused by something beautiful, remarkable, or unfamiliar.
We must live mindful of our extinction, taking in every chance we get to feel the sun on our faces after many months of winter. We should not run away from the past, present, or future because we are too afraid to face it. What we should do is take that bold step, leap into the unknown, knowing we could crash and burn, but giving room to the possibility of something good happening to us.
Through our misery, we should devise our coping mechanisms, create solutions for the long term, because it's a pretty long ride we've embarked on--this life--and for what it's worth, we owe it to fate and chance to make it worthwhile.
