Such a special day
As a photographer that focuses mainly on documentary style photography, I was a bit nervous going into this shoot. About six months ago, a good friend of mine asked if I could be the photographer for his wedding.
I told him that the only way that I would agree to shoot the wedding is that if I was able to do it with my daughter and that we had complete control of how the photos were taken and how they look. One of the worst things about being a photographer is when you get a client that wants you to shoot how they want and not giving you the creative freedom to get the types of shots that you were hired to get.
I was glad that my friend allowed me and my daughter to have the creative freedom needed to get the shots that we wanted. The entire day was so special. It was special because I was able to document this day for one of my best friends here and that I was able to do this with my daughter as well.
I have been friends with this guy for about 11 years now and have seen the two kids that he has grow up. One thing I have noticed is that he loves his kids so much and it was so great to be able to document it for his family.
I have watched this little guy grow up since he was just a tiny little baby. When I was in school, I would watch his kids, so we have so many memories of him when he was just learning to walk and talk. Now he is getting all grown up and talking and he is just the cutest little guy ever.
The bride also has children from previous relationships and it was so cool to see all five of the kids getting along. I am really proud of my friend and the family that he is building. The love that they all have for each other was just so cool to see and it made the entire day easier for my daughter and I to document.
I have about 2500 pictures to go through and choose the best ones. My daughter has quite a few photos as well that she needs to go through. I normally don't like giving my clients a lot of photos because it can be overwhelming to them to receive so many, but it would be impossible for me to narrow these down too much. I think they will end up getting close to 600 photos once we are all done editing them.
