Well that poem sucks

I found out about a new poem generator that Google was in collaboration with Artist & Designer, Es Devlin called POEMPORTRAITS.

It is a pretty simple tool where you just enter in a single word and then "donate" it the AI, and then it will generate a two line poem that is "based" on the word that you enter.

As you can see from my "Cat Poem," the AI is not that smart when it comes to generating a poem that makes any sense that pertains to the subject matter that you choose. I think that there is a list of random words that it already has planned to poop out no matter what word you enter into the blank.

After you put your word in, it asks you for permission for your camera so it can take a picture of you that it can put in the polaroid thingy that it puts your poem on. It never actually puts the picture on it, so either that part is busted, or it is just stealing people's images, but good thing I just held my cat up to the camera. I ended up just taking a picture of Rusty with my phone and Photoshopping him into the Polaroid in the end.

I made a poem using the word "art" and the results were even more confusing. I am not sure what any of it is supposed to mean.

But I guess that is how poetry is supposed to work. Most of the deep poetry makes no sense anyways. This AI is either a genius at poetry or it really sucks at it. I'm not smart enough to tell. Maybe there are some poets out there that can try and decipher this mumbo jumbo.
