You know when I saw this prompt, I did not know if I should write about it. As always, I was uncertain but I have decided to push head first now especially when it is something I very well know that I am capable of.
I used to be so hardworking. Doesn't mean that I am lazy now, I just grew complacent and that is more dangerous than procrastinating. Let me use my time on Hive as an example.
Before Hive, I was a sales personnel earning $30 monthly. I was giving it my best. I would sit during my free time and read all about wines. That way, when talking to my customers, I would have enough knowledge to sell. I would consume articles on Whiskey, Cognacs, Brandy, Vodka, their processing and ingredients. I would read feedbacks from clients online because I don't drink.
I would read on Red and White wines, chocolate extracts and whatever else was necessary. I had an edge compared to other sale personnel which made me the favorite of my boss. While the others (in different shops) would sell a bottle or two, I'd be lifting cartons into cars. To the point that I got calls on my days-off from clients because they needed to fill up and they trusted my judgement.
When I got on Hive, I channeled that energy. I began to write, engage and read all I can. I dipped my hands and legs every where on the blockchain. I was such a buzzy bee. So what happened?
I know. It first started with the comparison and then moved to the inability to be like the others. My engagement slowly dropped and before you know it, I was running away like I always do.
If there is one thing that would make my life easier right now it would be, prioritizing my time and making the most of it. I always have an issue with time management. To the point that I had to reach out to @dreemsteem for help because it got really bad. I would find myself doing a lot only to realize that I had done nothing.
I believe that being able to effectively prioritize my time would enable me to get the job done. When she told me to cut down on some of the things I do, I thought it would be impossible but I still tried. Then she explained multitasking. I really thought it'll be easy but it is not. However, with practice, I am doing exactly what she recommended. Today, I have written three articles in drafts. I have also gotten some school work done and even gone as far as attending to real life duties.
I started early though and this is epic. If I could build this as a habit, then I would actually be able to make time for myself too. Not that I don't have time to myself but they are mostly spent reading one or two.
Now, I would love to learn how to make time for others too. And I mean people who would need my attention or help. I see people getting really chatty on Discord and I feel left out. This is one more thing that I feel managing my time properly can help me with.
