I just had to take a picture of this beautiful Sunrise... it's always a lovely day on Friday...
I am sure you are already intrigued with the title of this post and you should. I am about to share how i almost died from dehydration.
Special thanks to @harlowjourney whose post inspired me to write this and also reminded me of the importance in staying hydrated.
This happened in 2019, when i and my partner went out for our evening jog. I never carried water with me then because i felt it was overload and unnecessary. We jogged for about twenty minutes (pardon me, i don't know the mile count) hitting on thirty when i began to feel hotter than usual.
I ignored the warning, then my sight blurred for a moment before my heart began to go gaga. I stopped to catch my breath and then realised that i couldn't breathe!
All the air seemed to have left my lungs and i was sweating profusely. My partner noticed my struggle and rushed to my side and i only panicked more when he commented on how red my face had become. I tried swallowing in air but it felt like a futile effort. My sight blurred completely (yep, i went blind), my limbs gave out and i felt like a raging inferno (it felt like i was boiling). He and some other athletes who happened to be on the street, helped settle me on a bench before one of them poured water on me from my head.
My partner said he could swear that he saw steam rising from my body. I felt like i was dumped back to earth after contact with water and my sight returned.
You may be thinking that I'm exaggerating but try holding your breath for thirty seconds. How does it feel?
Alright then. Imagine loosing air for about 55 seconds. I thought i was gonna die!
After reviving and saving me from the iron grip of death, the guy asked when last i drank water and i blanched. I couldn't remember the last time i actually drank water. Most times, i don't take liquid immediately after eating and when i do, it's mostly concentrated or carbonated drinks. It may sound weird but i used to forget to drink water.
After that day, water became my favorite drink. I would drink it first thing in the morning, afternoon, and lastly before bed. I started small, setting alarms and stuff but gradually, i couldn't do without it. I could go months without touching any other liquid except for water and those from fruits.
Water is life. It is essential for good health and growth. Some people neglect and look down on water when it has both healing and refreshing abilities.
I can take five to six bottles of water a day. I like it because i feel refreshed anytime i drink it.
For many of us who work out (even if you don't), please try your possible best to include Cucumber in your diet. It is about 95% water and promotes hydration. I make sure to include it whenever i can.
