I’ve saved a small amount of money because of the free food I’ve been getting invigilating exam at my place of National Service. So tonight, I decided it’d be nice we give ourselves a kind of a street food treat
For the first time ever, my posts will feature snapchat-taken pictures. Pictures taken with a blurry filter in particular, but don’t worry as I feel like the blurry pictures were nice for this occasion. As much as I want to show you what everything looks like, I’ll be showing you most of the things in blur so that it’ll a bit of an exciting read as you form visual images yourself of the blurry things you see.
All the pictures would’ve been blurry if I decided to shoot in snapchat filters from the start, but I only got the idea to shoot tonight with snap filters after I mistakenly tried this filter and liked it.
It was already late when we set out because we didn’t plan to stay outside long. You get this first picture without a blur because I hadn’t decided to go blurry for the night yet. It was only playing around after taking this picture I eventually discovered the blurry filter was the perfect one for the night(imo).
The distance from where I stay into town itself is only a few minutes ride so we were in town in no time.
Every time we do this kind of thing, we mostly start with getting sausage and kebab. My Nigerian friends liked the sausage in my last post where I took a picture standing next to a sausage stand lol. So tonight too, we first headed to buy some kebab. We mostly buy both our kebab and sausage here, but not tonight. Tonight we only bough kebab here(we specifically bought liver kebab) and moved to another joint to buy the sausage itself because according to my friend, “The sausage at this joint is smaller”.
Before this though, we withdrew some money because I didn’t have physical cash. My money was in e-cash form. I won’t be adding a picture of this part because I don’t have a blurry version of it. I have only a default camera shot of it, and it’ll look out of place if I add it.
After buying sausage, we headed to a spaghetti joint and bought some spaghetti. It was a 5 minute ride between the two places. This place appears to be my friend’s favorite night food joint and he’s taken me here a couple of times. They weren’t that many people there tonight as the last time we went there, and the underlying factor could be the fact that the time was late today than it was the last time we went.
We got our spaghetti and rode to another sausage and kebab joint (where my friend believed the sausage was bigger lol) to now buy our sausage. You don’t really see the sausage in this shot because it’s more in the left corner(which my screen didn’t fit into the picture).
I’m not sure why I’m showing you this picture of my feet while I was standing at the second sausage joint or why I took it in the first place so I’m just adding it with no relevant story lol.
Anyways, after we had our kebab and sausage, we went to some nearby store and bought some drinks. This was a new place we went tonight. We normally buy drinks at a store just outside my friends hostel, and if it wasn’t for the fact that the store would’ve been close, we probably wouldn’t be buying our drinks in town itself.
From here, it was back home to enjoy the fruit of our journey lol. I bet you would be thinking maybe, just maybe, I’d show you an unblurry picture of the stuff we gathered, but I’m not:) I initially planned to, but after the seeing the pictures of the blurry food shot, I liked it enough to think it was okay. Sorry:)
Even though the picture is blurry, I think you pretty much see everything in this frame. The sausages are the deep red circles on the bowl, the black circle like spots is the liver kebab, you can see eggs too(or not?). Then our two bottled of Tamarinda and pure water sachets also sitting there.
Now I’m just going to add some random shots of the road and streets I took on our ride to town. I have one of them as my phone’s wallpaper right now and I want you to guess which one and why you think that is what I have as my wallpaper. Let’s see how good you’re at guessing and how much you can read into my mind:)
