As I have mentioned before, I have long used writing and journaling as catharsis.
In some ways, you could even say that my journal is sometimes my "substitute therapist," and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than throwing $120 at someone for a 50-minute session!
Sure, there are times when we can benefit from talking to a "qualified mental health professional," and I hasten to add that my current ability to generally muddle through life's lumps and bumps is based on 40-odd years of using such a method for problem solving.

"Perfect Storms"
Mrs. Denmarkguy and I — and we've both been in and around the healing and mental health professions for decades — sometimes joke with each other that it's "so unfair" that we don't get to "schedule" our life crises for when it's convenient and we are prepared, and we also don't get to space them out neatly so we can deal with them, one at a time.
Of course, we're being facetious!
Life simply "happens," as it wants to.
And sometimes, the Gods look down at your world and decide that it's time for you to face a tornado, a flood, an earthquake, a drought, a hurricane and a volcanic eruption, all within a very short timeframe.
And so, "good people" can be thrown into states of turmoil nobody could reasonably be expected to face with aplomb and their equanimity intact. Even if you are "that person" everyone else comes to with their chaos and issues, because it seems that you always "have your shit under control."

Breaking Points...
It is in times like those that we get to discover where our breaking points are. And perhaps your reality is simply scoured to the bones.
I remember some 20-odd years ago, when I was still living in Central Texas. There was a massive outbreak of tornadoes, one day in late May. Closest to me, it ripped the roof off our local Albertson's grocery store.
But a day later, I was part of volunteer crew that went to aid in a small community named Jarrell. The F5 tornado that struck ERASED Jarrell. had winds estimated at 260+ miles an hour (That's 420 km/hr or 116m/sec for you metric folks)... and we got to this neighborhood to supposedly "clean up."
But there was nothing there. No debris. No cars. No houses. No trees. Just rows of concrete slabs where people's homes once stood. I looked down at the road we were standing on; the winds had — quite literally — peeled the top layer of asphalt off the street.
They call it "The Finger of God," around those parts.
And sometimes, we get to experience our own personal "Fingers of God." And we learn that even the strongest of us have breaking points... and all we can do is stand there and see that that top layer of asphalt simply was scoured out of our lives.

OK, So That's Really Dramatic...
The good thing about "having everything blown apart" in our lives is that we typically get to shake ourselves off and build anew. And if we were paying attention, we will have learned from the mistakes we made, and we get to build stronger and better versions of ourselves.
Truly, the only certainty in life is change.
Sometimes we get to choose change... sometimes change chooses us, regardless of whether or not we are ready and/or willing. Either way, we just have to face it and deal with it.
And so, these are days of change.
Mrs. Denmarkguy — who is also the spiritual and "woo-woo" member of the family — shared to her followers something I found particularly poignant, in the current storm:
