Hello Everyone and happy Friday for all of you...

This my contributions to #FungiFriday challenge by ewkaw@ewkaw in Fungi Friday Community

Hi everyone, as usual on Friday we will make a Fungi Friday post which is all Fungi Friday posts about Mushrooms and such. And this time I also want to show you of the Mushrooms that I got on the sidelines of rotting plant roots. Because the weather has been relatively dry lately and it rarely rains, so I had a little trouble to find Mushrooms, of course because usually a lot of Mushrooms will appear when the weather is humid and wet. However, there are some Mushrooms that we can actually meet even in summer, such as the wood Mushrooms that I will show you this time.
This Mushroom is grow on the sidelines of a rotting tree and is difficult to reach, but I try to photograph it from several sides.

I think this mushroom comes from the Ganoderma family, which is the most well-known wood fungus. Ganoderma is the most common wood fungus that grows on decaying plants, and it takes many forms. However, this type of mushroom has a hard surface like real wood, so sometimes if the color is the same as its host plant, we cannot tell the difference and think that the fungus is part of the wood.

Ganoderma has a distinctive color like varnished wood, a wide surface, and a fan or semicircle shape. This mushroom has a thick and hard structure like real wood. Sometimes at the end there is a white color which makes it easier to recognize. This fungus is found in large, hard decaying plants, such as Mango trees, Rambutan trees, and trees with other hard structures.
I found this Mushroom in the roots of a rotting tree, and it took extra effort to be able to photograph it because I had to dig up the dirt covering it first. Indeed, this Mushroom does not grow on surfaces that are easy to reach like Mushrooms in general, this Mushroom grows on the sidelines that are difficult to reach from a tree.

Because of its thick surface, this mushroom will not dry out easily even in summer like common Mushrooms. Types of Mushrooms from the Genoderma family are usually used as traditional medicines in several countries and of course there are certain types of Genoderma Mushrooms that can be used for this and are certainly very rare. But even so, this Mushroom is not recommended for consumption because it may contain toxins that can be harmful.

Apart from the Genoderma in the semicircle shape, I also found the same Genoderma but in a different and very strange shape. The shape is abysmal, like several Genoderma merged into one. However, in terms of thickness and color, these Mushrooms can be classified into the Genoderma family because they meet criteria such as thickness and color lines.
It's possible that this Genoderma has a genetic disorder or isn't perfect when it grows, that might just happen. However, we will still recognize it because it has characteristics as a wood fungus from the Genoderma family.

Those are the Mushrooms I discovered today, hope you guys like them and see you on the #FungiFriday post next week.
