Dec. 15, 21: Routine, Final Exam, Grading, SM Season Ends, and Games

[Got early teaching this morning and grading and grades to do after AND errands to run, so the shoulders are up above my ears at this point…got to get ready to go here in a minute, so doing my best for today’s post - but, honestly, it’s unlikely that I will have the time to edit at all…we’ll see]

Up just befor five this morning and only 😛 another hour short. What’s another hour, though, right? I woke up thinking about the final and what to try and accomplish during the time I’m proctoring the exam.

Did the usual morning routine. Cryptos are still generally low and slow, but we did see some slight hints of green today. In particular, I’m glad to see MATIC recover a bit relative to ETH. Polygon has been making some very serious (big money) acquisitions and I think it’s just about set to explode…at least that’s the hopium I’m smoking at the moment. 😆

Still been monitoring my BeeSwap investment as well. I really don’t like that I can’t see the token transactions coming in, but I guess I’m getting them? I did realize that I get double SPS airdrop points for being in the pool, so it really doesn’t make sense to move it in-game (other than to unlock the matching HIVE in the pool); for the time being, I think I’m just going to leave it alone. Still considering going harder into the SPS pool, but haven’t yet.

Got ready and headed into work a few minutes early because I had no choice but to get gas. That went smoothly, and I wasn’t in a hurry to get my prints done since I already had them, but I did hit some traffic for the last mile and a half of the drive that ate a significant portion of my buffer time. Even so, we did start the exam a couple minutes early since everyone was already there.

Spent the proctoring time making sure my grade book was set up properly for both classes and putting in the exam and homework grades for Calc I (which means I only need to enter the final exam grades and those are done). I wanted to put in the Calc II homework grades, but it’s not actually due until tomorrow, so that wouldn’t be fair and I’ve have to go back and fix the grades anyway.

I’ll hopefully use some of tomorrow’s proctoring time to get the Calc I grades complete and get the homework in for Calc II. I already did my key and worked out the point distribution and everything, so that’s all done. Depending on how long the student(s) make me sit there, I might try and get something done on the website. I might try playing some Splinterlands instead, but I can’t be swearing while people are taking a test. 🤣

The drive home went smoother and I got home a little early. I was tempted to bust out the Oculus and leave the grading for class time tomorrow, but made the adult decision and just focused and got it done. There was one student (and I feel bad because there’s a language barrier for that student - but their attendance was not consistent and when they were in class they frequently took a nap) who didn’t do well, but otherwise they rocked it! Going to be lots of A’s and B’s!

I got done with grading just before Wenche got home and she made us yummy pasta and meat sauce for dinner and we watched Inside Job for a while. I had like 3500 steps left to go, so had to do some serious marching in place, but kept the streak alive if only just barely. Got my steps, laid down, and was gone nearly instantly.

I think it was the Bank yesterday, today it’s the shopping mall that got robbed…what we call “transitory shittiness.” The endemic shittiness of dShitty, however, lies in the perpetual robbery from taxes and other such machinations.

Never mind CryptoSuckmaster, not even worth the time to rant.

Did a couple more missions on Rising Star and finally got level 44. Nothing else interesting going on here, really.

Today was the end of the Splinterlands season. Can’t say I got anything major, but I did snag some more DEC and a few Rare, which helps. The gold foil was good, but not exactly the most powerful card in the bunch. Otherwise, food for my beasties.

I knew I shouldn’t. I mean, I know it sucks playing right after the reset, but I didn’t want to get behind a day on my quests. Fucking terrible! I lost down into Silver hard and have crippled monsters again AND never finished the quest, so I’m behind a day regardless. 🤬

No quest reward for today, but I guess I did earn a couple DEC (got to tell myself that to justify playing). Still frozen with indecision regarding my vouchers and just staking up my SPS. Pack sales have more or less screeched to a halt.
