Aug. 28, 22: Routine, Grocery Shopping, Studying/Prepping, Walking, TV, and Games

[Although I did get everything done for Calculus last night (except for making the announcement), I still haven’t finished the stuff for Algebra today…now I’ve got major crunch time and am struggling to get my usual routine out of the way to get that stuff done right away…we’ll see how this goes, this was exactly the stress I was hoping to avoid by being proactive, but here we are.]

Not a whole lot going on during the morning routine, just the usual. Did curation, checked the crypto markets, checked the SOL market, chatted on Discord (finally got all the messages I needed to qualify for the giveaways 😁🤑), shifted and staked H-E tokens, played some Wombat games, and watched some more Calculus videos on YouTube (which now fill my whole feed 🤣). Got my post done fairly early and scheduled it to post so we could head into town early to get the grocery shopping done.

Got back and put everything away about $150 lighter, got a little lunch, and really needed to start working, but it was soooo nice out I couldn’t resist at least a short walk. Wenche was doing laundry and it was pretty hot out, so she was going to take the dog out later after dinner, but I didn’t know how long work would take and I wanted to make sure I got my exercise in instead of getting involved with stuff and never going.

Eighty and sunny…and the last day of my summer break, I couldn’t let it slip away. Beautiful out there!

I was kind of thinking about the work I needed to do, so wasn’t paying much attention to my surroundings, but I did catch a little chipmunk. I was really close to him, but there was grass in between so the shot didn’t come out great and I didn’t think I could get any closer without him bolting. It’s there, promise:

I was pretty sweaty from the walk and Wenche was working all day yesterday, so it was time to get a nice shower. 😉 Wenche made us some chicken and rice and salad for dinner and then, finally, I sat down and got to work. First I went in and corrected the homework due dates for Calculus, then constructed both the syllabus and calendar for that class from scratch.

I’d wanted to have both done and the announcements out by the afternoon, but it was pushing bedtime already when I got done with the Calculus stuff. I started on the Algebra calendar, but didn’t finish, and still have the syllabus to do…hate being unprepared, but I guess, strictly speaking, I’m not late yet.

I do have to admit that I’m a little disappointed with myself for not having worked on the website at all for several weeks now…I knew it would have to take a backseat to getting ready to teach Calc III, but as usual I had hoped to have accomplished more over the month break. I did get the login basically completed, so that’s a major hurdle overcome, but there’s still a shitton more to do before I can even start trying to get people to break it, let alone start spending any money on it.

Even so, I am happy with myself looking back at the break that I did get that much done, I studied a whole lot for my proper job, and I hardly played any Oculus at all. I still haven’t even ordered a new controller…was hoping for one for my birthday, but I got enough money from my parents to get it myself anyway, just haven’t done it as a deterrent to wasting too much time. Instead, I got back into the healthy habit of exercising every day. My sleep isn’t great, but I do have to say it’s a lot better than it was before and I haven’t really been dragging as much during the day. 👍💪

Anyway, got ready for bed and went to turn on Little Demon, but there were only two episodes! 😡 We put on another animated show: The Great North and I played a bit of Splinterlands until I fell asleep.

Ok, so dShitty income is still holding positive, just barely, but it’s there. On the other hand, my actual income continues to fall. Throw some crises in there for fun too. 🤬

Well, I got two missions in before the drunk fans came back on Rising Star. I’m just going to keep at it for now and see whether I have any Ego once the expire again.

We’re right smack in the middle of waiting for HashKings. Know how I know? The plants revert back to the first day. At least something happens?

Played some Splinterlands in the evening and made some progress. I was really hoping to make a bit more, but I started to get on a losing streak and gave up on it for the night.

Broke into Gold I finally, but immediately lost back out. Only a couple days left and teaching is starting again, so not sure if I’m going to have the time to get back to Diamond or not.

Got my Focus rewards from yesterday. Can’t say it was really worth as much playing as I did, but whatever:

Seems there’s a limit to claim the battle rewards (have to have at least five), so I couldn’t get what I’d earned yet, but claimed my interest as usual and left it liquid this time. Got like three days worth saved up now, so just about ready to swap them out. Still not done anything with vouchers…thinking of just dumping some for whatever I can get out of them; not sure what I’m waiting for.
