Today, I'll be showing some of the flowers in and around my yard. I haven't posted too much on the flowers so far this season so I thought it would make a nice colorful post for this Friday! I also got some new ones for the garden that I'll be showing off as well.

First up! The giant Hibiscus is in bloom still. I have pink, white and a white with pink blush.

Once they are done blooming, they will often just close up, wither away and fall off. I was able to get a photo of this one before the withering had started and thought it looked lovely. I call this photo "Before The Fall".

The Dahlia's were pretty while they lasted which is never long enough in my opinion!

I found out the the blue-ish/purple-ish flowers by the mailbox are Chicory. I've noticed this plant a lot around here lately along the roads. I think they are mostly blue-ish but depending on the light sometimes they look purple-ish, to me anyway.

I thought about getting some Daylilies but didn't get around to it. Must have been a sign from up above that I had a couple actually come up in my yard or maybe it was the neighbor's yard. You'll understand when you see my next photo!

The Bee Balm started off strong but are pretty much done for the year. I think they fizzled out early this year. They got what appeared to be a mildew on them which I wonder if what they got was due to all the rain we've had here.

My one and only Peony showed up but only for a little while. I was lucky enough to catch it before the bugs did!

I've had a heck of a time with bugs this year. The Japanese beetles and aphids were the worst I've seen in a few years. It seemed like they especially liked the giant Hibiscus plants.

The Hostas are about done too. It seems to me like a lot of plants here are early on their ending! The Hostas all have their seed pods already. I took a few photos of the flowers before the pod stage though.

These are just some of the flowers this year and I'll be posting more photos in posts down the road. I do have just a couple more to show you though. I planted Coneheads this year. After getting the garden on the side of the house cleaned up and putting some weed block down, I decided to plant a few of them.

Bonus! It seems the butterflies like the Coneheads too!
