On the Annapurna Circuit the principle of might is right rules big time. The track is narrow and can barely hold a 4x4 jeep. So when a minibus comes along it usually sits towards the rock face and motorcycles need to figure out a way to squeeze past while trying to not fall into the Maysyandgi river below. Unlike in India, the drivers in Nepal are patient and give you time to figure things out.
In times like these you realize exactly how much of an problem side luggage on a motorcycle can be. I had the narrow Cramster Stallion saddle bags on my Impulse and they were interfering with the side of the mini-bus. I had to lean the motorcycle towards the valley and inch my way forward slowly. If I had huge panniers there is no way I would be able to pass this mini-bus. I would have to dismount the motorcycle, remove the panniers, carry them across, ride the motorcycle without the panniers and then mount them back on.
