It's obvious that there are laws that are worse to break than others. Even after being broken down from misdemeanors and felonies, there are worse felonies than others. There are are worse misdemeanors than others.

It's understandable that illegal actions are handled differently from state to state, country to country. With this being the case, it must be brought to light how enevenly balanced our laws are across the U.S.

From prostitution to smoking cannabis, there are many individuals who have been thrown in prison for a number of years for actions that others partake in with no reprocussion. In fact, there are some people who are now so wealthy from partaking in illegal activities(that are illegal elsewhere) that it brings to question why it was against the law in the first place.

People living in a low social class will have no means to pay for their way out of prosecution. Big banks and highly favored people get off with a slap on the wrist, while the nobody's get thrown in prison for life. All the while, investors in private prisons are becoming more wealthy from their investments(prison population) growing. Where did we go so wrong? When did we begin labeling humans as criminals for partaking in activities that are of no harm to anyone?

I feel we live in a time similar to George Orwell's 1984 because we can be monitored, listened to and wiped off the face of the without a trace if we try to do too much that certain people don't like.
