Fellow healthy Steemers,
I have been on a health craze for the past few years now and have smacked on tons of smoothies at night instead of ice cream or other snack. I will be posting some recipes I use on top of other healthy snack recipes from now on to help others benefit from healthy living :-)
Tonight I'll post what I'll be making in a little while for myself, a strawberry banana smoothie using no sugar and Almond milk.
•cut up 1 banana into 4-6 pieces.
•wash and measure up 1 cup of Strawberries.
•1/2-1 cup of ice
•a little cinnamon
•1/2-3/4 cup of almond milk
•2-3 teaspoons of either Honey or Agave.
•(optional) -teaspoon of peanut butter
•mix all ingredients into blender, and blend up for 1-2 minutes, serve and enjoy
I personally love to use agave as a sugar substitute to pretty much everything I would bake or make that needs sugar. I substitute it for agave. But honey also works and is very tasty in these smoothies. It's up to you, be creative :)
The peanut butter adds a little protein and in my opinion adds an awesome taste to this smoothie in particular. But it is 100 percent optional here.
Agave- what is it? • http://www.allaboutagave.com
