The day I did this manicure was very fun and eventful. I scheduled this client for a Sunday at 10 am and she was on time for her appointment. As soon as we sat down to work she told me that she wanted to wear a difficult design but if I didn't feel comfortable with that particular one we could look for another model.
El día que realicé esta manicura fue muy divertido y lleno de acontecimientos. Cité a esta clienta para un domingo a las 10 de la mañana y llegó puntual a su cita. En cuanto nos sentamos a trabajar me dijo que quería llevar un diseño difícil pero que si no me sentía cómoda con ese en concreto podíamos buscar otro modelo.
She showed me the first option and then the rest of the alternatives. To be honest, I didn't think I could do it right, but I decided to take the chance. I liked the fact that she always had confidence in my abilities and encouraged me to do it.
Me mostró la primera opción y luego el resto de las alternativas. Para ser sincera, no creía que pudiera hacerlo bien, pero decidí arriesgarme. Me gustó el hecho de que siempre confiara en mis capacidades y me animara a hacerlo.
As soon as we sat down to work there was a power outage, so we had to wait at least 30 minutes. When the power was restored, I started working again, but the joy only lasted 15 minutes because there was a second power outage.
En cuanto nos sentamos a trabajar hubo un corte de luz, así que tuvimos que esperar al menos 30 minutos. Cuando se restableció la electricidad, empecé a trabajar de nuevo, pero la alegría solo duró 15 minutos porque hubo un segundo corte de luz.
I had to pack all my work tools and we went to my client's relative's house, as there is a generator there. On the second blackout, I started to think that maybe I shouldn't do that design. Blackouts in Venezuela are completely normal, but not like this.
Tuve que empaquetar todas mis herramientas de trabajo y nos fuimos a casa de un familiar de mi cliente, ya que allí hay un generador. En el segundo apagón, empecé a pensar que tal vez no debería hacer ese diseño. Los apagones en Venezuela son completamente normales, pero no así.
Once we got to the other place everything was much easier because we didn't have to worry about anything related to electricity. It took me about two hours to do the design, but I think it was worth it because the client seemed very happy with the result. Good thing we decided to leave my house after the second outage, because service was not restored for about 5 hours.
Una vez que llegamos al otro lugar todo fue mucho más fácil porque no tuvimos que preocuparnos de nada relacionado con la electricidad. Tardé unas dos horas en hacer el diseño, pero creo que mereció la pena porque el cliente parecía muy contento con el resultado. Menos mal que decidimos salir de mi casa después del segundo apagón, porque el servicio no se restableció durante unas 5 horas.
