Hey there! Got another ring design that I just finished up. It's a christmas gift for my brother, who likes Naruto.
The Sharingan is a unique ability that is only carried by the Uchiha clan in the series. It changes their eyes, looks baller as hell, and I just HAD to turn it into a signet!
That accent piece around the edge? I'm particularly proud of that one. That's based on the curse seal that Sasuke Uchiha has on the back of his neck:
Those comma shapes are called Magatama, and they're very heavily referenced in Japanese lore and Shinto buddhism. I took this PNG image and isolated one of the magatama.
I took it into GIMP, removed the background, and then turned the magatama image into an SVG. After I imported the SVG into GIMP, I turned it into a 3D Mesh and created a bevel:
I had to merge about a dozen vertices together around the tail point, just so it would sit nicer on the bevel. Then I adjusted some of the vertices so the faces don't look so crazy before exporting it as an STL. After I had the model, I just added it to 3D Builder, set it where I wanted, and rotated to fit. I made 3 magatama in one direction, duplicated them, and then flipped them upside down to rotate the tail in the opposite direction. Then I just had to set it to the right oreintation so it all looks right, and now it's ready to go! I'll do another post once I've printed it, let you know how it turns out.
