Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum)
This plant is one of the first medicinal plants that pop up in early spring here in the PNW.
Herb Robert works as a styptic, that means it stops blood flow in wounds. Say you are out hiking and you scrape yourself pretty good, you can grab a handful of this plant, rub it between your hands and fingers vigorously until it produces juice, place your tee shirt over the wound and allow the juice to cover the scrape. It stops the blood flow so you can properly bandage the wound. The tee shirt keeps plant debris from getting inside your wound and causing more problems.
