It was time to get out into the bridalways and tracks to check the conditions after a brief period of drier weather. Although it was cold today at around 6 to 8 degrees, the sun came out for a while and

It has been a nice relaxing sunday. Just a trip out to one of our supermarkets for a few essentials then visited some family members for a while. Another purpose for this post is an entry for the Around

We were so impressed with our visit last time to Godstone Farm that we decided to go back today. This time taking different grandchildren! 😆 We were lucky to see these lovely newborn piglets with their

Gorgeous sunshine unfortunately does not guarantee warm temperatures, as we are experiencing a cold snap right now, for the next few days. Some rain is forecast as well but after that I think it should

This time of year is so interesting for the changes going on in nature. New growth is appearing everywhere you look, and if you get closer it is amazing how beautiful it is. New shoots and buds looking

Saying goodbye to Guildford for a while. We will be back again soon though, and I hope we will get an opportunity to explore more of this historical town. There are at least two museums close to the town

Guildford is a very old town, dating back to the time of William the Conquerer, when a castle was built here. There is not much left of the outer wall now but the castle keep is still pretty much intact

These beautiful flowers are found everywhere now. Primroses look so gorgeous in their natural environment where they should be. They are protected, as are all plants and animals growing wild. But I have

The cherry blossom is fantastic this year. My photos show a good example of the spring display. They have such a delicate pink colour, and masses of individual flowers on each branch head, giving a powder

What better entertainment than going to Godstone Farm on this bright sunny spring equinox. A great place for children, as there is plenty of hands-on activities here. Feeding the animals or even

The sunshine is wonderful right now. We are having another good spell of fine weather again this year.....so far! I hope it continues. After yesterday's cycle ride I took things a bit easier, as I'm suffering

With this fine weather continuing, I made the most of it and took another cycle ride out into two of our parks. I actually cycled through a third park, the Ifield Mill Pond area to get to Buchan Park first

The camelias are looking great as usual in Worth Park Gardens. Always a glorious sight while walking around these gardens at this time of year. The flower heads always drop off, creating a colourful carpet,

The wild garlic is coming along nicely. This is a good patch of the pungent plant. There are many places where it grows around here, and in some woodlands it covers the ground like a carpet of white when

Good conditions today provided an opportunity to go for a cycle ride. As it happened I set off in some broken sunshine but it clouded over during the ride and threatened to rain. I was lucky to get back

So we are back to damp conditions again. Long range forecasts are predicting a very cold end to the month. 'Beware the ides of march' is the saying here in the UK, and very apt indeed. Snow is expected

I planned to go for a mountain bike ride today but due to a problem with a shed lock I couldn't get my bike out! 🤣. Never mind, the other option is to walk. So off to Ifield Mill Pond which was a good

It has turned much colder now, which was forecast but that doesn't ease the pain! 😆. We are getting frosts at night right now. Spring is on hold for a bit. Never mind, we all know that much warmer weather

March can be so unpredictable with weather conditions. With sunshine one minute then a deluge of rain the next! That is what we are getting now. I have been comparing our weather with march 2025. Last

Nature is looking very healthy right now. As we start the spring season, there are signs of this everywhere, like this oak tree with a coat of pure moss! Ok, we had a very wet winter which must have been
