After a busy day with more family duties I was more than pleased to go out for an evening mtb ride.
It was a ride planned on paper so there is always unforeseen problems!
I had to backtrack at one point as the track was not suitable for cycling. I had my map with me so it was not a serious problem.
I came across a large patch of Giant Hogweed. I've never before seen such a large amount of this poisonous plant in one place.
It was a lovely evening, passing through farms and fields as I went.
There were several footbridges.
Another shock was a local Hotel still closed!
Must have been closed for over a year now.
I was planning this ride for Thursday but looks like we have thunderstorms forecast so I popped out today instead.
The sun was beginning to get low so I had to cut short the cross country style ride and take to the road, Bah!
I did manage to get back onto a well known track near home which crosses a railway.
A very satisfying ride, in a new area. I will be going back out there soon!
