The great thing about animated movies is that they always feature a wide variety of characters, and as they reappear, they become part of our story—they’ve brought a smile to our faces and, above all, allowed us to enjoy a good animated movie. One of those characters is the Coyote, whom we’ve watched chase the Road Runner for many years, and we’ll never know if he’ll catch him. That’s why a new movie in the franchise, titled Coyote vs. Acme, is coming out—a great adventure packed with big challenges and decisions, and above all, it maintains that essence of being able to laugh, while also being suitable for the whole family.
Lo bueno de las películas animadas es que siempre tiene una amplia variedad de personajes y a medida que se van repitiendo ellos se van volviendo parte de nuestra historia, nos han sacado una sonrisa y sobre todo poder disfrutar de una buena película animada, donde uno de esos personajes es el Coyote que durante muchos años lo hemos visto perseguir al Correcaminos, y nunca sabremos si lo alcanzará. Por eso llega nueva película de la franquicia conocida como Coyote vs. Acme, siendo una buena aventura cargada de grandes desafíos, decisiones y sobre todo mantener esa esencia de uno poder reírse, al igual que se adapta para toda la familia.
This new installment reveals a sad reality: after so many accidents caused by Acme products, the Coyote decides to take the company to court—a twist that changes the pace of the story, since we’ve always seen him fall off cliffs, explode, catch fire, and get hit in the head with anvils. Furthermore, the blend of live-action and animation works well—a feature very few films have—and although it always has that cringe-worthy humor, it ensures the Looney Tunes franchise always has something to talk about; therefore, seeing these characters through a different lens makes the movie feel more exciting.
Another thing I liked is how these characters are developed, noting that saying very little can often be effective; thus, the Coyote maintains that essence of being obsessive, intelligent, desperate, and confident in everything he does. Beyond just being an animated comedy, it also makes us ask ourselves: “How far are we capable of going?” “Will he be able to win and finally find peace?” And many other questions that arise as the movie builds momentum.
Esta nueva parte muestra una triste realidad y es que luego de tantos accidentes provocados por los productos de Acme, el Coyote decide llevar esa compañía a los tribunales, siendo algo que cambia el ritmo de la historia, ya que siempre lo hemos visto caer por precipicios, explotar, incendiarse y recibir yunques en la cabeza. Además, esa combinación entre lo real y animación funciona bien, siendo algo que muy pocas películas lo tiene, y aunque siempre tienen ese humor incómodo hace que la franquicia de los Looney Tunes, siempre tenga algo de que hablar, por lo tanto, ver a esos personajes con otro enfoque hace que la película se sienta más emocionante.
Otras de las cosas que me gusto es la manera como están desarrollados dichos personajes, destacando que hablar poco siempre puede ser bueno, por lo tanto, el Coyote mantiene esa esencia de obsesivo, inteligente, desesperado y con una seguridad con cada cosa que haga. Más allá de ser algo animado, risas y también resalta y nos preguntamos ¿Hasta dónde somos capaces de llegar? ¿Podrá ganar y dejar todo en tranquilidad? Y muchas otras cosas que van saliendo a medida que la película va tomando fuerza.
The scenes are very well crafted—something happens in each one—and when you think about it, the movie works much better when it embraces the absurd than when it tries to be a comedy. That’s why this movie, Coyote vs. Acme, manages to make everything come together while also proving that even after all these years, the franchise is still at the top of its game, and that after so many years, the Coyote has achieved something that seemed impossible. As a result, this new movie has personality, nostalgia, and enough funny moments to ensure a good time—all while leaving us hoping that the Coyote will come out on top.
Las escenas están muy bien trabajadas, ya que en cada una pasa algo y cuando nos damos cuenta funciona muchísimo mejor cuando abraza el absurdo que cuando intenta ser una comedia. Por eso esta película Coyote vs Acme, logra hacer que todo encaje y a la vez demostrar que películas que tiene años existiendo cuando sacan una nueva sigue siendo lo máximo y que después de tantos años, el Coyote consiguió algo que parecía imposible. Por lo tanto, esta nueva película tiene personalidad, nostalgia y suficientes momentos divertidos como para pasar un buen rato, además con la esperanza de que al coyote le vaya bien.
