Greetings friends, we continue working and practicing with the art of origami and thus get amazing things with paper, where we continue with the theme of animals and this time we had to make an animal, very fast, big and dangerous, known as lion. I haven't seen one in a while, I remember when I was little I visited an animal park and there was one of these animals, however, today we are going to take creativity to another level so we can recreate the closest thing to it on paper. So don't miss this origami procedure.

Saludos amigos, seguimos trabajando y practicando con el arte del origami y de esa manera conseguir cosas increíbles con el papel, donde continuamos con la temática de animales y esta vez nos tocó hacer un animal, muy rápido, grande y peligroso, conocido como león. Tengo algo de tiempo que no veo uno, donde recuerdo que cuando estaba pequeño visité un parque de animales y allí había uno de estos animales, sin embargo, hoy vamos a llevar la creatividad a otro nivel para así poder recrear lo más parecido en papel. Así que no te pierdas este procedimiento del origami.

The first thing we need to do is to take a sheet of any color of our preference. With the help of a scissors we will cut the paper, since the measures that we will need will be 20 * 20 cm, so that this origami lion is perfect.

Lo primero que necesitamos será tomar una hoja de cualquier color de nuestra preferencia. Con la ayuda de una tijera vamos a cortar el papel, ya que las medidas que vamos a necesitar serán 20 * 20 cm, para que así este origami de león quede perfecto.

Once the paper is cut, we are going to fold both diagonally, vertically and horizontally our sheet, where it has to be flattened very well so that the lines are very well marked, with the idea of being able to begin to fold each of the parts of this paper lion.

Una vez cortado el papel, vamos a doblar por ambas diagonales, de la forma vertical y horizontal nuestra hoja, donde se tiene que aplastar muy bien para que así las líneas queden muy bien marcadas, con la idea de poder comenzar a doblar cada una de las partes de este león de papel.

Then we are going to take two ends of our paper to take it to the center very carefully to flatten them, we will have two triangles. Then we flip our sheet and on that same side we are going to fold the other two equines that are loose, as a result, we will have a square as shown in the photo.

Luego vamos a tomar dos puntas de nuestro papel para llevarla hasta el centro con mucho cuidado para aplastarlas, nos quedarán dos triángulos. Allí mismo volteamos nuestra hoja y por esa misma cara vamos a doblar las otras dos equinas que están sueltas, como resultado, nos quedará un cuadrado como se aprecia en la foto.

We take one of the tips of our leaf and we are going to take the edge of it towards the center, flattening it very carefully, and we will get a kind of triangle. We open and now we fold the tip that is in front of those doubles that we made in the previous step. The idea of making these two doubles on the same side is to be able to mark a line and make a respective fold on the sheet. We repeat the same on the other side of the sheet, which needs to be very careful not to damage the origami.

Tomamos una de las puntas de nuestra hoja y vamos a llevar el borde de la misma hacia el centro, aplastando con mucho cuidado, y nos saldrá especie de un triángulo. Abrimos y ahora doblamos la punta que está al frente de esos dobles que hicimos en el paso anterior. La idea de hacer estos dos dobles en un mismo lado es poder marcar una la línea y poder hacer un respectivo pliegue en la hoja. Eso mismo repetimos en el otro lado de la hoja, la cual se necesita de mucho cuidado para no dañar el origami.

Now, in the part of the paper where it came out as a kind of square, we are going to fold both ends to bring them to the center, marking this line very well. We open and very carefully we will make another fold inward, which will leave a small piece on the sheet, which will be part of the body of the lion. We repeat the same on the other side of the leaf, where you will see that little by little it will take shape.

Ahora, en la parte de papel donde salió especie de un cuadrado, vamos a doblar ambas puntas para llevarlas al centro, marcando muy bien dicha línea. Abrimos y con mucho cuidado vamos a realizar otro pliegue hacia adentro, el cual saldrá un cachito en la hoja, la que será parte del cuerpo del león. Eso mismo lo repetimos en la otra cara de la hoja, donde verán que poco a poco va tomando forma.

In the other part of the paper, where the tip is, we are going to fold both parts in half, so we can mark a big line on the sheet and proceed to fold with a fold inward, as shown in the photos to get the head of this great lion. This step is a little complicated and you need to fold very well so that nothing falls apart and takes the corresponding shape.

En la otra parte del papel, donde está la punta, vamos a doblar por toda la mitad ambas partes, para así poder marcar una gran línea en la hoja y proceder a doblar con un pliegue hacia adentro, como se nota en las fotos para que salga la cabeza de este gran león. Este es un paso un poco complicado y se necesita doblar muy bien para que nada se desarme y tome la forma correspondiente.

We fold again in half carefully so as not to disassemble the folds that are inside and we can see that we got two points on our sheet. On the back we are going to take the top point and fold it down, which will be the tail of our lion. Right there we are going to take the two triangles that can be seen towards the front and that way they will be the paws.

Volvemos a doblar por toda la mitad con mucho cuidado para que no se desarme los dobles que están por dentro y podemos ver que nos salieron dos puntas en nuestra hoja. En la parte de atrás vamos a tomar la punta de arriba para doblarla hacia abajo, la cual será la cola de nuestro león. Allí mismo vamos a llevar los dos triángulos que se aprecian hacia adelante y de esa manera serán las patas.

For the head, we are going to take the other tip that is free and we are going to bring the tip backwards and then forwards in order to mark the line and make the fold. Fold the tip and the head is ready.

Para la cabeza, vamos a tomar la otra punta que nos queda libre y vamos a llevar la punta hacia atrás y luego hacia adelante para así poder marcar dicha línea y conseguir hacer el pliegue. Doblamos la punta y de esa manera estar lista la cabeza.

An origami that gave me a lot of work, since it was getting smaller and smaller and required many doubles to achieve each of the parts of the lion, the result was certainly achieved.
