You see, I was brought up in Chinese education background. Not like I don't like to learn Engrish, the only mean of learning Engrish when I was "small" from Chainis teacher who spoke colorful Engrish. Which is no wonder how my Engrish become so buttery smooth.
As I grow older, I gained more exposure. Later I found the lady of my life, which is the exact opposite of me, with absolutely great language skill. As she started pointing me out, where my expression in Engrish very wordy. Therefore, I started to realize some of the overused words. Example given below:
Actually - I "actually" like to use "actually" excessively.
Just - I "just" like to use "just" excessively.
Only - I "only" like to use "only" excessively when I "only" wanto emphasize I "only" want to take that action by no choice "only".
Now you don't see that coming. It's a combination of multiple languages in our Malaysian mind. The "actually" I use in Chinese “其实”, it's not a problem when speaking in Chinese. The "just" I used in Chinese is also “其实”. And I "only" think of "only" because in Chinese “其实” can bring the meaning of there's other options 🤣🤣🤣 the word of “其实” in Chinese is way too powderful and can be used as decorative words in every direction at different depth. To make matter worse, the “其实” actually not only work with Chinese, it's actually also work with Malay - "sahaja"🤣
I hope you have a little extra knowledge of how Malaysian Engrish become so colorful and forgive me when my writing become too wordy and there's very little meaning to that 200 words paragraph 🤣
I actually only make this post just because I actually want you know just how our language work only 😉
