My heart bleeds as I write this...What's our country turning into? What's the fate of our various schools of learning? Our children are no more safe in these so-called boarding schools. They are no longer safe even among their mates. They now move around with the fear of being raped or bullied. Is this how it's meant to be?

Just some days ago, I published an article of a 12 years old promising young boy who was bullied and beaten to death by his schoolmates. Click HERE if you missed the article on Sylvester.
Dowen College came out to say that Sylvester sustained this injury while playing football, but this young boy on his deathbed, told his mum that he didn't play football. Who should we believe? Of course the young man. The school was trying to cover up the incident to protect their image and that's why they came out with such information.
I'm so happy that most Nigerians ain't keeping quite on this. They've decided to protest and seek justice for Sylvester, hoping their efforts won't be in vain. This is because the parents of the children who perpetrated this act are so rich and influential that they are ready to spend any amount of money they can spend just to cover up the whole incident.
The protest is still on and this has propelled the House of Representative in Nigeria to instruct the inspector General of police to make sure that these perpetrators are punished. Currently, the report we've received is that three out of the five students who killed Sylvester are now in police custody.
Keren is another promising young girl who was RAPED, Sodomized anally, and bullied into silence. She died some months ago from sepsis and infection which was a clear indication that she was raped. A condom was even found inside her genitals. For crying out loud, this girl was just 14. How does a person sleep after committing this act?
Keren is a student of Premier Academy, Lugbe, Abuja. This is one of the biggest school in Abuja. Their school fees are something only the rich people in the society can afford. Just like the case of Dowen College, Premier Academy tried to cover up this incident just to protect their image.
Did I say tried? They actually covered up the incident because this happened some months ago. We are just hearing about it now because of the case of Sylvester. The protest for #justiceforSylvester gave rise to that of Keren. Guess we wouldn't have known about this had it not being for Nigerians coming out to protest for justice for Sylvester.
But seriously, what are these rich Nigerian boarding schools turning into? Premier Academy are now trying to exonerate themselves from this ugly incident even though it happened in their school premises. Ain't they supposed to monitor everything that happens around the school? Ain't they responsible for the safety of all students? I wish the government can revoke their license because in one way or the other, they are responsible for the death of Keren.
Having an unlawful carnal knowledge of someone without their consent is RAPE and anyone caught in this act is expected to be punished severely. There is a law against this and I want this law to come in to place in seeking justice for Keren.
Knowing that some people participate in the culture that supports and encourage violence against women and girls baffles me. It's so sad to know that in Nigeria, little girls are getting raped every single day by their fathers, brothers, uncles, and they're afraid to tell anyone about this.

I'm using the medium to call out all the voiceless GIRLS out there. Please know that you have every right to say NO, just as you have the right to be heard. You are not alone and so, you don't need to be scared. I want you to know that there are many girls like you struggling in this chaos and by speaking out they've survived it.
Always contact your local legislators or call women's right department or anyone you've got to do something, instead of staying silent. This is because you're the one that's going to break this chain. Your voice matter!
And for the witness, don't blame the victims. We should know that rape is never the victims fault. Each one of us can take actions to stand against rape. YOUR ACTIONS MATTER! Whether you were able to change the outcome of the situation by stepping in or not, at least you will save one young girls life and her future.
Let's all stand up and kick against this rape culture. Let's speak out until the government steps in. Keren must get her deserved justice.
Thanks for reading.
